I'm a fourteen year old girl and I really want to become a proffesional surfer. Surfing is my passion, I don't have a board of my own at the moment but I know how to ride a short board and I've been surfing for years whenever I can. I'm just starting to get really serious, especially with summer coming up and try outs for my school's surf team coming in August. I'll be getting a short board of my own real soon. I live right on the coast of California, and the beach is about a ten minute drive. My dream is to one day become a proffesional surfer, and I know it's not that realistic but I'm willing to work as hard as I can for it. Of course I won't give up on school or anything. What do you think?

She hates anyone who:

- has tattoos

- has piercings

- dyes their hair

- smokes

- drinks

- is over weight

- Isn't her idea of "beautiful"

- guys that have long hair

- is transgender

- is gay, bisexual, or otherwise

- isn't republican

And the list goes on

Her attitude can be described as "it's my way or the highway"

Her boyfriend, who is annoying and she claims she doesn't like him but is with him to "make him happy" (we know better) thinks she is perfect, and never calls her out when she yells at myself or her twin sister, and is only concerned about her and talks to no one else.

I honestly don't know what to do with her. I'm barely tolerating her at the moment, she is getting on my nerves and irritates the hell out of everyone around her

Advice please? I'll add more details if needed. We're both fourteen by the way, I'm two months older than she and her twin

We met one and a half months ago, and I have never met anyone like him. He is gorgeous, kind, smart, witty, adventurous, everything. I really like this guy. He constantly told me I was beautiful, he really really liked me, etc. We had held hands, hugged, kissed, etc. He goes to a different school but it's right across the street from mine. Anyways, we hung out quite a bit, and he was always so different from every other guy I've ever met in my entire life. He also came out to me as bisexual several weeks prior to last night. Last night he texted, said his mom was uncomfortable with him having a girlfriend, his grades are sh*t, etc. Then, he said there's sides of him he doesn't want me to see, and he's terrified of what will happen if I find out. He said he was breaking up with me, and to just forget about him, because he said he was sure I'd "find someone else better than him". He's blaming himself entirely, he says he still loves me though. Should I try and talk sense into this guy and see if we can get back together? I love him a lot, and I do not want to lose him.

My class schedule is as follows:

1st period science

2nd period history

3rd period PE

4th period english

5th period art

6th period math

I have always struggled with math. This year, I am very upset with my math class. I would like to swap it out with my history class (keep both classes obviously because I have to, just swap the times i take them) for the following reasons:

1) I have a very, very hard time focusing on math at the end of the day and I do not want it to affect my grade. Like I said, I already struggle and last year I had 1st period math and it was very easy & I was wide awake for it

2) The other students are all extremely annoying to me, making it even harder to concentrate. I have no friends, and although I can attempt to work with them when needed it does ruin my overall experience with learning & the subject itself

3) Teacher is not that fabulous either IMO

My history class is second period. Math is sixth. I would like to switch so math is second and history is sixth. I focus on history much easier and I love the subject. My friends have sixth period history with the same teacher I have for third, so I would go to the same room and same teacher just different times. Are those legitimate reasons to ask to switch? I will go talk to my counselor if so.

I'm currently living in an apartment while my family has our house redone. I have six five gallons with betta fish, one ten gallon, one twenty gallon, and one twenty nine gallon. How should I go about transporting them to our new house? We won't be going for several months so I still have time to plan. Thanks!

I have a 75 gallon tank with two angelfish (not a breeding pair, but both are very docile and are kind of like Deb and Flo from Nemo; always staring at their reflection, and kinda clueless). I also have one rescue betta, he's a spade tail, and he doesn't even flare at his own reflection. He's very active and adorable. Then I have two fantail goldfish who keep to themselves. They're docile to the extreme and really sweet fish. I also have one bristle nose place, who, yet again, keeps to himself, and three golden mystery snails. The bottom substrate is black sand, and I have a very large filter. There's ten live plants, some caves, and I clean it regularly. Is this okay? Thank you!

Yesterday I went to PetSmart and got 2 angelfish for my 29 gallon, cycled tank with sand at the bottom, four live plants, a rock cave and some other decorations as well as a heater and a filter. The PetSmart associate said that they would be good in a 29 gallon, but I'm beginning to think otherwise. I was doing some research last night on how to care for them, and I found that their fins can grow 12 inches tall. I just want the best for these fish, and if it means returning the Angels to the store, so be it. And the angelfish get along just fine, they were in a tank together, and they haven't been aggressive so far. Thank you!

I just saved a betta fish from a fair that I went to. He looks healthy, if not happy, and is eating some frozen brine shrimp I have to him in the little ""tank"" he came in. I have five other betta fish which all have their own five gallon tanks. However, this veil tail male has nowhere to go but an empty, cycled 29 gallon aquarium that I set up a while ago. It has three live plants, some rocks, and black sand at the bottom, plus a filter. It doesn't have a heater because it's in my room, which stays at a steady 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Can he go in a tank this large? The ammonia is 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 0.5, pH 7.4. Thank you!

So I have three guppies, neon tetras, in one tank and two male bettas both separated in my room in different tanks. Are they okay being in complete darkness during the night? Or should I move them? As I type this it is nighttime and they are in the dark. Thank you!

I'm going to be getting either a 29 gallon or a 40 gallon tank this week. I was wondering if bacteria supplements &/or quick start aquarium cycling water conditioners actually work? The brand is API and I saw them at PetSmart. Thank you!

Hi there! This week I plan to take advantage of Petco's $1 per gallon sale. I believe I'm going to get a 29 gallon tank, but I may end up getting a 40 gallon because of the sale. My question is, should I get goldfish for my tank, angelfish, or, I may get cichlids, but I'm not sure what type I would get. Also, I am an experienced fish keeper. This would be my largest tank yet, though, so any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm not a beginner aquarist, and I think I would like to try keeping angelfish. I know that they need AT LEAST 30 gallons. So my questions are:

1) what water permitters do they need?

2) how many can I keep in 30 gallons since they are a bit aggressive? what about 40 gallons? (And should I keep only females, only males, or X number of females to every Y number of males or something like that?)

3) what food can I give them? regular flakes, or something else?

4) is there a specific kind of set up they need to be happy? (Ex: dense planting/thin planting)

Any more details and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

So I have two male guppies from PetSmart and they were in the same tank together. One is slightly larger. The yellow one (larger one) will bully the smaller one, which is orange. The yellow one hangs out with the females (there are four females) and ignores him, but the girls seem to want to hang out with the orange one as well and will swim up to him and try to get him out of his corner. What can I do about this? Thank you

I bought a neon tetra and a guppy to go in my community tank with five neons and two existing guppies. The woman at PetSmart netted them terribly, then put them in a little plastic square container filled halfway with water. She then DUMPED them into the plastic bag (like a waiter would pour water into a glass) and spun them around to tie the bag up. When she wrote the numbers of the kinds of fish I got on the bag, she was extremely rough and when she handed me the bag she practically tossed it into my hands. I was appalled at this and the neon seemed to be floating around in shock but regained a tiny bit of strength on the way home before his death. I know it was not my fault because I purchased these fish not even two hours ago, I cover the bag and hold it to keep it steady on the car ride home, and I am very familiar with acclimating the fish as I have five Betta fish and two community tanks. Now, when I removed the deceased neon tetra from the community tank, I would normally place the fish in a plastic bag to be returned to the store. However, this time I accidentally dropped him down the garbage disposal. I did pay in cash, but I have the receipt and the bag and everything else. I am reluctant to go back to this PetSmart to purchase another fish, and I wish to go to another nearby PetSmart where I know them and they do things a lot better. Would they be able to process the return if

A. It's a different location

B. I have no body, but the receipt and bag?

I have a cycled ten gallon tank with a heater and a twenty gallon filter. It has silk plants, nice gravel, and a cave for them. I want to get some guppies, but I'm not sure what temperature the water should be, what hardness, etc. And can I put some neon tetras in there as well? Or no? Thank you!

So my friend recently got a boyfriend. I had a very short relationship with a guy I'd known for years, but we're still friends, and I think he still likes me, he just flirts with every girl. But that's besides the point. My friend has been seeing this guy for maybe two months now. She's 13 and he's almost 15. Her mom doesn't know about him. She's always spending time with him, and he buys her a lot of stuff like gift cards and jewelry and random crap she doesn't need. I'm assuming he comes from a well to do family. She always complains about how ugly she is, and she worries about her weight etc etc. she won't let me meet him at all and barely fills me in on anything. I know that he gives her a hickey a lot, because she wears turtle necks/a band aid on her neck, or covers it with her hair. She acts really weird, and keeps a lot of secrets and stuff from me. And he's holding her back because apparently he refuses to go to fairs, or swap meets or anything fun with her, but he goes to the movies all the time and gets lunch and dinner with her. She somehow managed to sneak off and go surfing with him one time too. Regardless of the fact that I think he could easily take advantage of her, I just don't like the whole ordeal. And no, I am not jealous whatsoever. I'd rather be with the guy I know than this dude. I just don't get it. Thanks for listening.
