I'm doing a research paper on the comparison of gender roles in works by Stephen King and Margaret Atwood during the 1980s.

I'd love articles exploring their works, but they are not necessarily when I need.

Any article that looks at gender in 1980s literature would work!

For school this month I have to read a book by a black author which is at least 150 pages and is not poetry.

The only problem is that since I love reading I have trouble forcing myself to read a book I cannot relate to.

I recently read "Monster" about a 16 year old black boy who has been accused of assisting with a robbery that left the store owner dead. I thought the writing style of putting it into a movie script was brilliant but I hated the story line. How much more stereotypical can you get?

I hated Huck Finn when we read it in school, I can't deal with dialect like that.

So what books should I try? I'm currently struggling through "The Bluest Eye" but I don't think this one will cut it either.

So I recently enrolled in a public speaking class at the community college down the street and we are supposed to dress up for all of our speeches. To just be brash about it I have boobs now. All my clothes from last year either don't fit my double D's or are so low cut even with a cami underneath that I would never dream of wearing them out of the house. Also, the only skirt I've ever worn I picked up from goodwill four years ago and it's more patches than skirt. I went to Maurice's the other day spent $25 on this beautiful cream floral skirt and blue cinched blouse but I need a few more outfits but I don't have that kind of money! I checked out all the goodwill's in the area and they have nothing in my size this week :( Any shops that have cheap clothing?

It's currently midnight in Michigan (where I live) and there's no extreme weather conditions at the moment. Some sort of siren went off a few minutes back though, followed by some sort of large boom. It didn't sound like a tornado siren though, nothing has happened since, and there are nothing on local news stations. I live in a very bad area and near a GM plant so my first two thoughts are either a riot or something at the the plant. Am I over reacting? Has anyone else ever experienced this? What should I do?

So our Algebra II book has no examples of problems with exponents on either side. The problem is

I'm not sure how that's supposed to be written, but it's not four times the square root it's you know two thirds to the one fourth power. Anyway there are no examples like this in book and the answer is 4 radical fifty-four over three. I need an explanation to this please.

Two weeks ago in the middle of having sex my partner informed me that there was blood in some disturbing areas. It was very obvious to me that it was just blood, and not a period, coupled with the fact my period was due in three weeks I highly doubted what that was. We had also had a pregnancy scare just a few weeks before and I still hadn't taken a test, so we thought perhaps it had been a miscarriage early on and thanked our lucky stars we hadn't had time to become attached. When I went to the bathroom later there was also bits of skin or tissue mixed in with the blood, further supporting our theory.

Had sex one time after that, completely normal and nothing happened.

Today I had sex again, and later went to the bathroom only to discover more bleeding, heavier than last time, and also with bits of skin/tissue mixed in. Now my period is due in a couple days so it could be that, except this is straight blood, not period blood.

What is this? How can I prevent it? There is no pain during sex, and lubricant is not a problem (we've tried with and without and it's just really not needed). And ideas?

I don't know if I was pregnant or not, but I ha almost no period, throwing up all the time, dizzyness and they would just come out of the blue. Then about a week ago I had no symptoms anymore and felt perfectly fine so I stopped worrying about it and didn't even bother getting a test. Today while having sex however I experienced a sharp pain in my stomach and then started bleeding. It's a lot of blood, my period isn't due for two weeks, and it doesn't feel like a period anyway. Also, there are like... I guess clumps would be the best way to describe them, and it looks like peices of skin floating around. I'm worried about what this could mean and my friend said if it is I don't want to know because it'll make it harder on me, but I can handle knowing. So any input would be appreciated.

My grandmother left me a gold braclet with X's and O's on it that I would prefer not to take off. Unfortunately like every other human being I swear, shower, and was my hands.
