How do i treat a cold when i'm pregnant?
I'm 7 weeks pregnant (nearly 8) and I have a horrid cold. Sore throat, runny nose etc. The problem is that when I get a cold and leave it without any medication I end up with runny eyes too - not only is this very unsightly, but it's a pain in the @ss as it means I can't drive or anything as i can't see.
All the medication over the counter seems to contain paracetamol (which I'm led to believe you can't take whilst pregnant) so what are my options?
Thanks!

try some homeopathic remedies.
Lemon is the most important among the many home remedies for common cold. It is beneficial in all types of cold with fever. Vitamin C-rich lemon juice increases body resistance, decreases toxicity and reduces the duration of the illness. One lemon should be diluted in a glass of warm water, and a teaspoon of honey should be added to it. This should be taken once or twice daily.

Eat a bowl of chicken soup....
take a hot bath with lots of bubbles and relax....
then out on some fresh pajamas, make a hot drink and sit in front of the fire....
then get yourself to bed nice and early for a good nights sleep with plenty of vix on your pillow or chest to keep your air ways nice and clear
Keep busy tommorow e.g tidying the house ,this should help take your mind off of things, Just keep plenty of tissues with you for your runney eyes and noses.... also if you work its best to take the day off and stay in.
If you feel really bad though go to the docs! =]
Colds only last a few days dont worry it will be over soon and congrats on the baby! =]

Use home remedies instead. You could drink tea with honey for your throat. Rub vapor rub on your chest and neck. Wrap a hot towel on your head. If you boil water with Eucalyptus oil in it the steam with clear your congestion. Turn up the heat and use a lot of blankets, then take a nap. It sometimes speeds up the process if you sweat it out. Take 50mg of Zinc to help flush it out. I hope you feel better.

the applicable concern to do for a soft chilly is drink 8oz glass of water each and every 10 minutes for a million hour. that is going to help plenty in cleansing the virus out of your physique, additionally garlic and nutrition C. Tylenol rather will in basic terms handle the symptom and is not reliable for you, yet won't harm the child if that is all you have an activity in doing. basically take a small volume.

My doc gave me an Rx for Z-Pack when I got really sick like that when I was pregnant. You can take Tylenol for fever. You can use cough drops & throat spray for your sore throat. They are safe to use during pregnancy. (There's nothing wrong with my son & I used them.) Also, try drinking NON-HERBAL, DECAFFEINATED tea.
