To all fellow Hindus on this forum, I would like to ask what your opinions are on Jim Carrey who mocked Bhagwan Ganesh in a comedy skit on NBC recently, associating Ganesh with some 'tantrik sex' scenario.

Personally, I am quite upset and would like both NBC and Carrey to apologize for such a shameful act. Why wasn't there an outcry from Hindus.

Am I overreacting?

Now, this is not a troll question to enrage people. I have an important question to ask.

I think we all agree that taste is subjective, ie, depends on person to person. musical taste is no different.

So, why is it if someone says he/she (not me) like Justin Bieber (or, any other contemporary commercial artist) more that the beatles (or any other legends of music), they are sure to be insulted, booed and ostracised. You can go on any music video made by- generally-regarded-as-'great'-artists, you will find someone saying they like lil wayne or bieber more. Now, he may be doing this for trolling, but you can see that almost everybody commenting spews out brilliant amounts of hatred towards the person, basically telling he/she is very wrong.

Now, is this so? can one be right or wrong about their taste in music?

Why did govt of India not stop all trade and aid ties with pakistan and bangladesh seeing the plight of millions of people, mainly Hindus.

When will hindus start recognizing the immense pain of other Hindus at the hands of barbarians? Does karma take care of such atrocious people and their misdoings?

Should the hindus just forget that Ayodhya is the birth place of Ram? Is that what we are being told?

Because just minutes after the verdict we saw the sunni board telling us about its appeal to the supreme court. So, we know for sure that the muslims have not moved on. Now, I may be generalising here and taking the view of the sunni waqf board as the view of all indian muslims. Which is why I would like to know from some muslims here if they have moved on or not. Also, if they are happy with the verdict as it came out yesterday?

Who would a contemporary American Christian Republican support more:

A western liberal athiest - Hey, he may not believe in God, but he wants the same lifestyle and has similar values (broadly speaking) as the Republican.

Or, A muslim in the Middle East. He may not believe in the Western society, but at least he is a believer in God. In fact, the same Abrahamic God as the Republican does.

So, what do you think? Would love to hear, particularly from god fearing republicans.

how do you measure superiority among vampires? we know that age is one important factor, the older one is the more powerful, he or she is.

well, then how does vampire politics affect this... is it a voting system...

i mean godrick was so old and wise and he still was just a sheriff, while that old *beep* of a vampire was the magistrate of all of north america. how does that happen?

now to the more important part, where does the queen fit into all this? is the queen the queen of the vampires the world over or does it go by region i.e. are there several queens?

also, in a fight with the queen would an older vampire be able to defeat the queen (the show suggested that NO ONE could overpower Godrick) or is she undefeatable. also, who made her queen? how does that happen? why do vampires even need a queen? so, if the queen commits a crime, does she also have to go to the vampire court; whose power is bigger there, the magistrate's or the queen's?

I know this is a long post, but i would really love any insight into the matter. there has not been a tv show has made me so curious/interested in a long time.

Ofcourse they have indulged into some questionable business practices in the past, but then which company hasn't? The companies that people support so dearly (*cough* apple *cough), are they really that saintly in their practices???

i am planning to write gmat in a few months and been on forums like beaththegmat etc. one expression they frequently use to denote the answer is OA.

now, i am too embarrased to look like a noob on such forms but i would like to know what exactly does the term OA mean??
