There is this job that I really want that I applied for online. I don't think I am one of the top candidates, simply based on experience. I e-mailed HR today asking about the status of my application and got a very generic response. I thought I should e-mail the department the job is in (it's at a university and the individual departments do the hiring, not HR) to put myself out front, even though I'm pretty sure it says something about not e-mailing the departments about jobs. What can I say in an e-mail to make myself stand out and make them want to call me for an interview?

This guy I used to work with asked me to have drinks with him one time. I said yes because I didn't think it was a date but then by the end of the night I figured out that that's what he'd meant it to be. The next day he sent me a text saying he had a good time with me and that I was super cute and that he'd like to go out again. I sent him a text back saying it was good to hang out with him because it was good to have a friend here because now that I'm not in college I don't have my girl friends any more. I didn't hear from him again (the desired affect of the friend zone text) until a few weeks ago, he asked me to go out for drinks again. So I went and then when he walked me to my car he went in for the hug. I tried to kinda pull away so it ended up as more of an awkward side hug. Anyway, so he asked me to go out again today and I'm totally at a loss as to what to say. He's clearly not taking my hints of friend zoning and hug pulling away. I don't want to lead him on but at the same time, I have a hard time saying no to people. I want to know how to nicely but authoritatively reject him.

I know I can use the view on desktop option in the Internet Explorer 10 toolbar but I would really prefer not to use that option every time I want to pin something, especially because IE 10 runs really slow on my desktop. Is there a way to get the Pin It button on the regular version of IE 10 for Windows 8?

I have fair skin and usually use Neutrogena SPF 45 on my face and 70 on the rest of my body but have to reapply throughout the day in order to not get sunburned. I'm going a river tubing trip and won't be able to reapply so I need a really good water-proof sunscreen that will last several hours without irritating my skin.

I work in a tiny office with a man who chain smokes. He already reeks of cigarette smoke before he even lights up so when he comes back in from a smoke break, he smells even worse. To add to that, the office manager also smokes and so do several other workers who are constantly walking in and out of my office. What can I do to make the smell of smoke less bad, cover it up, and/or get rid of the smell? (other than get a new job of course. And believe me, I'm working on that)

I bought a new computer (PC), installed iTunes on it, put most of my music from my old iTunes onto a flash drive, and put them on my new computer in my new iTunes. For whatever reason, not all my songs transferred onto the flash drive so I went back to my old iTunes and transferred the rest of the songs onto it. As soon as I moved those songs to the new iTunes, the ones I put on yesterday popped up with an exclamation point next to them. When I tried to play the songs, it said it couldn't because it couldn't locate the original file. I'm really mad about this because I bought some of those songs and for the ones that I didn't...well, it's going to be a real pain in the butt to track down all those CDs and put them on my new computer What can I do? Or what exactly is wrong?

P.S. I think the song files are no longer on my old computer because the music file is empty. And I deleted the folder that had my music in it on the flash drive. Am I screwed?

OK, a couple things. First of all, where is the card game Hearts? It came standard on all the other computers I've had so where is it on Windows 8. Second, can I not put it on hibernate mode? The only power options it gave me were shut down and sleep. I like to turn my computer off on hibernate so it saves my sessions and uses no power (I don't like sleep because it's still using power). So where is that setting?

I know that asking questions in a job interview shows initiative but what questions should I ask? It's an office job if that helps

I was under the impression that Romany gypsies were dark skinned, dark haired, and the women were relatively covered up. I grew up next to gypsies like this (until they moved away after a few months). But tonight on "My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding" they showed a family that was supposedly Romany gypsies but to me they looked white and dressed and acted like the people on the British version of "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding" who are Irish Travellers.

I'm trying to use the clone stamp to cover up a white hot spot of bricks in a picture but every time I try it, and I'm doing all the things the book is telling me to do, the spot I'm trying to correct turns green. What am I doing???? Also, I have to use the Clone Stamp because this is for school and I'm pretty sure the professor can see which tools I've used and I'm supposed to be using the clone stamp.

I'm not really into horror films. I don't do blood and guts. The scariest I like is about the level of "The Shining". So what is a good movie to watch on Halloween? What about "Psycho"?

Call me non-high tech but I really want to get a slide phone because my faith in touch screen phones is very low. But my mom said she saw something on the news a couple months ago about how they were being discontinued. Are they really? Should I get one now or wait till my free upgrade is available?

I keep finding snippets of it, the part where he thanks his critics, and above all of them it says it was part of an hour-long speech he gave. Is this true? Because I am having so much trouble finding this speech in its entirety. I need the whole thing because I have to write a rhetorical analysis on a 20th century speech and I am trying to do it on a topic that interests me. If you know where I can find a transcript, I would appreciate it!

I know it began at 2:35 and ended at 9:15. I also know that play resumed in the 5th set at 8:23 after stopping at 7:53. I need to know what time play was stopped for the first tiebreak and the length of each set. Thanks!
