Photoshop CS4 Clone Stamp problem! HELP PLEASE!?

I'm trying to use the clone stamp to cover up a white hot spot of bricks in a picture but every time I try it, and I'm doing all the things the book is telling me to do, the spot I'm trying to correct turns green. What am I doing???? Also, I have to use the Clone Stamp because this is for school and I'm pretty sure the professor can see which tools I've used and I'm supposed to be using the clone stamp.

    to answer your question you have to know that the clone stamp simply clone a part of the picture to another place

    so to use it you have to select a target to clone it over the "white hot spot of bricks"

    And to do this take a look at this image and read the steps

    1- select the clone stamp

    2-hold down the Alt key.

    3-move the mouse to a target to clone and click the left mouse button

    4- cover the "white hot spot of bricks" by clicking the left mouse button (without the Alt)

    note that you may need to clone more the one part.
