Are cellphone makers discontinuing slide phones?

Call me non-high tech but I really want to get a slide phone because my faith in touch screen phones is very low. But my mom said she saw something on the news a couple months ago about how they were being discontinued. Are they really? Should I get one now or wait till my free upgrade is available?

Yup. The only slides I can find now are Tmobile's myTouch 3G Slide and Sidekick...and those things are OLD. Sorry...I really loved the slides.
