i gonna get a thumbdrive the purpose is to provide me a low cost small sized backup copy of files that could last me years. basically i got backup copies of my files in my places few harddisk in different locations memory cards, burned to dvds with gold layers. So i decided to keep certain files as backup copies in thumbdrives hence which brands is the most reliable if there is any other then those i stated...

the 3.0port at the back of my computer to acess it i need an extension cable of female to male or the other way round. So basically an extension of 2.0 cable hooked to the 3.0 port if plugging 3.0 capable device to the extension that connects to the 3.0 port what will the mode be? 3.0 or 2.0??? the set up would be 3.0 usb port > extension 2.0 cable > 3.0 capable devicces.

My usb 3.0 port is behind my desktop and its hard to reach it to hook up devices or harddisk so is there any 3.0 ready usb extension cable out there??? as it seems i cant find any and if i were to buy 2.0 extension cable to extend via the 3.0 port will the speed be of 3.0 or become 2.0 because of the cable?
