how to calculate adjusted cost base?
In 2010 I inherited a house shared with 5 people.
In 2015 one person passed away a deem disposition was done on their tax, that person portion of the house went equally to the remaining 4 people.
In 2018 house was sold.
To calculate adjusted cost base, do I still use 2010 house value and still divide by 5 people or do I change it to 4 people now?
Or do I just use 2016 House value to calculate adjusted cost base for 4 people?
Or do I have to get all mathematical and calculate the adjusted cost base for 5 people from 2010-2015
Then add/subtract the value from 2016-2018 for 4 people to get the adjusted cost base?
I hoping a CPA can answer this question

Should I have vents install on roof or just leave it as is, since I have gable vents?

Week 2: I do the same thing fill the sink with water and unplug. This time the little tornado does not form till it reaches half the height of last week.
Does the formation of when the little tornado appears indicate blockage of the drain?

1 AntwortCanadavor 7 Jahrenwhat qualify as vehicle moving expenses?
I received an letter from the CRA saying that I can't claim repairs I did to my car 3 days prior to my move to another province.
Here's what I don't get, on their website, it says I CAN claim car repairs, now they are saying that I can't. They didn't explain why, but just deny my claim.
So does the repairs have to happen on the date of my move to qualify?
So now I had moved back home, 2 days before my move I had my tires changed from winter to summer tires. Will I be able to claim this on my tax return? I don't want to make the same mistake again and being penalized.
So any tax experts out there, please give me some advice.

The company I work for is located in BC. My company got a contracted job in Alberta, so I had to move there to start work.
When filling out the moving expense form, for company information, what do I fill in for that section? Do I write down my company's address located in BC?
Would that be strange when the CRA looks at it?

3 AntwortenCreditvor 9 Jahrenhow to claim rent expense for self employment?
I work at home, and I'm claiming rent as an expense.
on form t2125
Income: $8449.35
I work 10/24 hours 7 days a week
House is 84 square meters
Work 39 square meters
Personal 45 square meters
Annual Rent is $2024
under Business use of Home expenses section
do I just write down $2024 under other expenses then subtract personal use?
45/84 x $2024= $1084.29 for personal use
2024- 1084.29= $939.71
Is $939.71 the amount that I can claim?
I ask an similar question earlier, but the answers given were confusing. All I want to know is do I write down $2024 for rent or do I subtract the business part use first which is 391.55. Then write down $2024-391.55=1632.45 as the total for rent on the business use of home expenses section?
.

I work at home, and I'm claiming rent as an expense.
on which section do I put it on form t2125
Do I put it on Part 5:Net income before adjustments (rent)
or
Calculation of business use of home expenses (other expenses)
do I calculate personal use first or business use first because
Income: $8449.35
I work 10/24 hours 7 days a week
House is 84 square meters
Work 39 square meters
Personal 45 square meters
Annual Rent is $2024
If calculated for business first. I can claim $391.55
10/24 x39/84 x$2024= $391.55
(this example was used in the business and profession guide)
But if I calculated for personal use first, I can claim $939.71 under Business use of Home expenses section
45/84 x $2024= $1084.29 for personal use
2024- 1084.29= $939.71
See my problem
