earning interest from bank and paying of credit card?

This might sound stupid, but I was wondering, my credit card bill is due on july 5, if I pay it off on june 30 rather then july 5 do I earn less interest from the bank. Or is it just the same?

Do I earn the same amount of interest from the bank whether I pay it off early or on due date?

Currently, you earn something like 1/10th of 1% per year interest, which would be something like 0.002% per week. So, unless your credit card bill is over $10,000, the interest would probably be less than 20 cents, and certainly less than two dollars. If the amount you are paying is something normal, like $200, the interest would probably be nothing (zero cents) and definitely no more than five cents. So, the answer is that it would not make enough of a difference to matter.

You do not earn interest from anyone by paying on a credit card. If you fail to pay off the balance by the due date, you pay interest.

I think its wise to pay your bills a few days before they are due -unexpected events could come up that could cause you to miss your due date.
