moving expense question?

I'm moving to another province to work. Instead of eating out, I went and bought groceries instead. Can I claim that as a meal expense?

*If* you can claim meals, then yes, groceries can count.

However, since you have to eat anyway, the tax law may not allow a deduction for food at all.

Meals are fine as a moving expense. Keep your receipts, or you can claim an amount without receipts of $17 per meal up to a maximum of $51 per day.

Why are you continually asking the same question? Is there something specific that is unclear?

With my company I am allowed $75 per day expenses.  They don't care if I eat out or buy groceries and eat out of the package as long as I have receipts for everything.
