I'm flying to Athens in 10 days, I'll have to spend a number of hours in Piraeus waiting for my ferry and I've been told I could enjoy some nice coffee and food in Marina Zeas. Is it a good place? How do I get there from Piraeus underground station/ferry gates?

Any particular bar or restaurant you would recommend? I wouldn't mind spending the hottest time of the day in some hair conditioning. A good service, kind staff and clean place are also appreciated.

I'm hearing controversial rumors about banks and supermarkets being robbed, free food being distributed in the streets, arrested people beaten up in prison.... can someone please shed some light?

Some say the Italian media are keeping silent on the matter because election day is quickly approaching and they don't want us to know before we vote.

What is really going on in Greece?

I've recently been to Greece and there's this family (mom, dad and daughter) who helped me out with some paperwork and stuff I had to do.

They've really been most helpful, I don't know how I would have ended up without them.

Now I'm back in Italy but I'm planning to go back to Greece in September and I'd like to bring them a present, possibly something Italian they may like.

Please note that due to high temperatures and the long trip (car, plane, metro, flying cat) I would gladly avoid to bring food and drinks.

Any ideas?

Cercasi disperatamente ricetta della "torta brioche", ecco tutto quello che so:

- è una ricetta francese

- le dosi sono sufficienti per fare due torte

- consistenza tipica della brioche, molto soffice

- è cosparsa di zucchero in granella

Attenzione, non ha nulla a che vedere con i croissants nè con il classico impasto per brioche, rimane piuttosto leggera ma è alta soltanto due dita.

Qualsiasi aiuto è ben accetto. questa torta ha prima di tutto un grande valore affettivo, ci terrei davvero a trovare la ricetta, per favore stellinate, grazie.

I heard it time and time again... "she made that call", "it was hard for me to make that call", etc.

I've got a hunch it means something like "I get it, I can understand it", but I'm not sure.

Also, can I say "I made THE call" or do I have to say "I made THAT call"?

Can you please provide a few examples?
