How do blind people recognise the value of paper money?

they usually have bank tellers / cashiers identify the bills and they fold each type a certain way.

A blind man came to my school a while ago, and he had different sections in his wallet for the different notes, which helped him. He could tell the vaule of coins by their shape and size, and for notes he could usually tell by the length - but the wallet things helped i think.
This might be different for you (if you live in the US or somewhere) cause i live in Europe (France) so I'm not sure if you're money can be recognised in the same way :)

By the feel of the note and the slightly raised parts of the pattern. I worked on taxis for a while, and when a blind person needs to pay you, they could tell you what note they gave you and count all the change to see it was correct.

I'm American [our bills are all the same size], but I know that other nations have bills of different sizes.

actually it has nothing to do with size, the bills ahve braillie on it, in the corner i think but its on it somewheres, well on canadian money anyways i odnt know about us money
