I have a deepfryer and this is what I was told by a chef at our local culinary college (johnson and wales U)....
-strain it everytime after you fry..don't leave ANY pieces in it.
-store it in the fridge
-you can store it for about a week, but don't use it more than 4 times
-if you make fish in it, you have to either only use it for fish, or throw it away, because it will make everything smell like fish
-if you want to make desserts you have to use fresh oil every time.
-NEVER mix old and fresh oil
what I do is, when I'm done cooking I let the oil cool, then I have a small mesh(metal) strainer and I pour the oil through that into a plastic pitcher. Now you can either store it in the pitcher, or, you can then pour it into the container it came out of....as long as it's empty.
those are the rules I follow, and I've never had a problem...good luck! :)

I'll go with AddieMom, but if you use Peanut Oil there is NO flavor transfer. You can cook fish and then chicken. The chicken will not taste of fish.

yes it can be reused. ide just strain it every so often.
and how often you use is depends on how often you need to change the oil
resturants who fry a lot, change it every other day about.
resturants who fry moderately change it once a week
you, ide say once a month if you fry here and their. but toss the oil after a month
