I'm a 20-something year old Sound Design major, mixing engineer and recording artist though Michigan Tech University. I've played the drums for about a decade, I've got a soft spot for cats and I Love motorcycles. My own is a 2001 Honda CBR 600 f4i. I'd say my specialties are Music, video games and bikes. If you've got a song you'd like me to work on for you, let me know as I'd be happy to do so, it'll hopefully be my career someday. Drop me a line if you have any questions.
Music Theory Triad Question?
Anyone mind helping me out with one of these? Im not looking for an answer sheet, but If you could walk me through one example I could figure out the rest.. I dont really know what is being asked of me..
"Regarding each pitch as a root, construct the triad is it would normally appead in the indicated keys. For minor keys, use the most common minor-key harmonies, as explained in the chapter. then identify the triad's function in each key by placing Roman numerals in the blanks."

My professor said I was basically right however didn't really give many pointers to my error. saying that I need to watch my powers of 10.
If you want to make a low pass filter which significantly attenuates signals above 6kHz using a 60 ohm resistor and a capacitor, what value capacitor, in microfarads (ΩF), should you use?
1/(2*3.14*6000*6) is what I've been doing, which is 4.4231 or so. so I thought it would then be about 423.1 Microfarads or so.. however this is wrong.. any tips would be appreciated..

A microphone with an impedance of 2k Ω is connected to a cable of length 500 ft. The cable is specified as having a capacitance of 49 pF/ft and a resistance of 21 ohms/1000ft. Ignoring what is connected at the other end of the cable, at what frequency (kHz) would you expect the signals to be attenuated by about 6 dB?

1 AntwortPhysicsvor 8 JahrenVoltage From A Microphone.. Correct answer here, just an explanation..?
A microphone is specified as having a sensitivity of -50dBV/Pa. What voltage, in mV, do you expect to get from that microphone when the sound amplitude is 2Pa?
I was shown something like:
–50 dBV = 0.00316 mV
0.00316 mV / Pa x 2 Pa = 0.00632 mV or 6.32 mV
as being the correct answer however I don't see how the .00316 came about from the -50 dBV..
would anyone mind explaining that to me?

A parallel plate capacitor is constructed using plates of area A and a spacing between the plates d with air in the region between. That capacitor has a capacitance of 37pF. What is the capacitance of the graduate student's capacitor (in pF)?
