In ancient Syria and Canaan, the moon god was usually represented with the symbol of a crescent moon. Depictions of the moon god from Egypt, Persia, Ugarit, and Ras Shamra (in northern Syria) all include the crescent moon symbology intimately connected with the moon god. Why did this symbol find it's way into a monotheistic Religion?

Thanks to our chilly weather, I have so many green tomatoes growing on my tomato plants right now that it’s tempting to go ahead and pick a few to make this Chutney I have found in my English Farmhouse Cookbook. We can't buy "mixed spice" in our shops. What would that be?

Chutney of Green Tomatoes

675g/1 1/2 lb green tomatoes

450g/ 1 lb apples

225g/ 8 oz sugar

350g/12 oz sultanas

100g/4 oz onions

1 teaspoon salt

25 g/1 oz mixed spice

600 ml/1 pint vinegar

pinch of dry mustard powder

Use an enamelled pan or casserole, chop all the ingredients and cook slowly together until the colour deepens; this takes 1 1/2-2 hours. Put into jars, and seal. Makes 900g/2 lb

My Son (17) is suffering from anxiety symptoms (tongue anxiety, breathing, dizzyness) since April. He is going to therapy and taking alternative medicine (St. Johns wort, Valerian) but it doesn't seem to help much. What else can we do? Any advice or experience?

As a teenager on my visit to scotland I eat this wonderful cake but I don't remember its name. It was a dark spicy bread like cake sometimes served with butter.

Ich wurde letzten Mittwoch zum zweiten mal innert 6 Monaten an der Nase operiert. Obwohl die erste viel schwieriger war, kam ich recht schnell wieder auf die Beine.

Diesmal scheine ich nicht mehr aus der Müdigkeit raus zu kommen. Mindestens 3 mal am Tag überfällt mich bleiernde Schwere und ich kämpfe um wach zu bleiben.

Wie ist das wenn jemand einen Mord begeht und bereut. Was passiert mit ihm nach dem Tod (Atheisten haltet euch zurück, ich weiss was ihr sagen wollt) Wird Allah ihm vergeben? Möchte gerne so viel wie möglich wissen (aber bitte keine ellenlangen Suren kopieren)

Allah bestätigt die Torah durch Gabriel/Mohammed. Diejenige Torah die im Besitz der Juden in Mohammeds Zeit ist. Lesen wir nun die Torah und den Quran merken wir die Unterschiede und dass der Quran die Torah nicht bestätigt. Allah sagt auch nicht, dass nur Teile davon bestätigt werden. Verse 2.41 ist in seiner Aussage klar.

Wir können nachweisen, dass die Torah zumindest von 250 vor Christus bis jetzt die gleiche ist. Also lange vor dem Quran.

Eine Abänderung der Torah wie oft erwähnt wird erklärt nichts. Dafür sind Beweise nötig nicht nur Anschuldigungen.

Akt der Barmherzigkeit? Mohammed heiratete auch gar manche Witwe. Das wird von Muslimen als Akt der Menschlichkeit gesehen.

Wie denkt ihr darüber? Wie sehen das Muslime heute?

Woran hat Muhammed erkannt einen Engel des Herrn vor sich zu haben? Ich weiss, der Engel würgte ihn fast zu Tode und es wird gesagt sein Schwager der Christ war erklärte ihm, dass es der Engel Gabriel ist. Ist dies ausreichend Beweis dafür?

For any religion, it is of importance to be right on the nature of God. If it is God's intention to correct the Christian corruptions and heretical abberations of the true understanding of Himself by this new revelation through the Qur'an, why does the Qur'an get it so woefully wrong?

Why is the Qur'an so concerned to condemn a "tri-theism of God, Mary and Jesus", which no Christian believes in anyway, instead of clearifying the mistake in regard to the true Christian doctrine being the "Trinity of God Father, Son and Holy Spirit"?

In Mt.27,50-51 stirbt Jesus am Kreuz und dann reisst der Vorhang im Tempel. Bei Lk 23,45-46 ist es genau umgekehrt. Wieso widersprechen sich die beiden da?

One of Muhammad’s companions by the name of al-Sa’ib ibn Yazid says, ‘We used to bring the drunkard before the apostle of God and during the caliphate of Abu Bakr and in the first stage of the caliphate of ’Umar, and we would beat him with our hands, sandals and robes. During the last part of ’Umar’s caliphate, he ordered us to flog him eighty times"’ (refer to ibn Timiyya, volume 28, page 336; and the book of the Sunna and its Significance, by Dr. M. Yusuf, page 29).

What brutality to see Muhammad and his followers rise against the drunkard to beat him altogether at the same time.
