Why does the military still use human pilots ?

1. Humans provide much more capabilities. They can do missions that computers can't. Planes fully controlled by A.I aren't a thing yet.

2. We have many multi-million $ planes in service that require human pilots. Should we just get rid of all of them?

3. Even drones need pilots, as another person pointed out. UAVs such as the Reaper Drone are controlled by a pilot sitting in a room on the ground. A.I isn't what's controlling the drone.

Kelly Johnson  created the P38, the F104 and the SR71 Blackbird.  In 1980, Kelly said pilots were not needed and were severely limiting the capability of aircraft to defend and attack.  Even in the 1960s, F106 and F102 could perform a mission with a dead pilot.

Even if there were drones more capable than manned interceptors, manned interceptors would be needed for peace time interceptions. Think about the everyday patrols that NORAD does-it's about showing the flag and having people up there doing that. 

Simple. Computer minds can get viruses easily.

Apparently, you play to many video games to know, fully autonomous, thinking fighter aircraft aren't a reality yet.

Mainly because all the planes we currently have need pilots.   Even drones have "pilots."   

Because electronics Fail

all their pilots are humans

Because they are more reliable than robot pilots.
