Is it wrong to flee from landlord that keeps begging to "borrow" all of my money?

My landlord is an Chinese woman who lives with two kids and her husband. They own a Chinese restaurant and we all know how difficult that industry is.

I'm already paying $800 a month for a room. I've paid them extra for a couple years too and lent them $2000. It's never enough for them. They say they have a lot of bills and they need money this Friday but I am planning on fleeing.

I've paid the next months rent too. Even if they do have a lot of bills and need the money, is it wrong to flee? It's not really my problem right? I didn't choose to have kids or try to start a restaurant.

Even if they need it, it's OK to flee at this point right?

You need to learn to say NO!!!! If they persist you may have to move.

if you gather courage to refuse them, you should not flee. if you are too scared, better flee.

OK, but why? You cheat yourself out of rent that you have paid. Why not just say you don't have any extra amoney after you pay your own bills?

If you flee, you will never get your money back. Stop paying rent until their debt has been repaid. Tell them you don't have money to lend them, in fact, you lent it to someone else so this coming month's rent has to be offset by what they owe you. After they have repaid their debt, give notice and move out, the way you are supposed to. Don't allow yourself to be used or abused and you are entitled to get your money back from them. Since they have taken you for a sucker and you keep handing over money, it is time you show them that you are not going to be a sucker any longer. After month two of not paying rent, give them $400 and mark on the memo section of the check "rent is up to date/their debt is fully repaid".
