How does someone who spends $800 on an AR-15 get to lecture anyone on wasteful spending?

$800 ?? lolol it'd take that just to fully accessorize my AR( an optic or scope being about 1/2 the cost).

$800 is barely any money to spend on an AR-15 ( just barely in the range for a mil spec model), a LaRue or Daniel Defense will cost you $1,500-$2,000 easy. A competition model goes up to $4,000. Personally $2,000 would be my limit for an AR, after that I'd look into a M1A, SCAR or other .308, but if you think $800 is a lot for an AR-15 you just don't know guns or are really cheap.

Also guns hold their value so they are good investments, and some go up in value over time. Depending on when you buy and sell you could make double the profit. That being said I don't lecture people on how to spend their money, not my place to do so.

If spending the $800 dollars does not effect them the way it does the poor. They might actually have been poor at one time but through wise spending, they can now afford that $800 gun. They could actually give us good advice.

If I'm not the beneficiary of some communist earnings theft and redistribution program, my money is MINE to spend/invest as I choose. The money the government wastes on these communist earnings theft and redistribution program comes from people like me. We have every right, and even the obligation, to speak up and make our voices and opinions heard regarding the ways the federal government (and state governments, too) waste OUR money.

Who are you to decide what is and is not a worthwhile investment? You obviously don't see it. You obviously trust your government to protect you and work for your best interests, but that belief doesn't make your opinion 'fact'. It simply means that you are gullible.

A gun is a good investment if it saves your family's life some day.

$800, that is a good deal if the gun is in good shape, I paid almost twice that!

You laugh, but I have met people who would rather buy a new gun than feed their families.
