Military Police?

Question

I'm a high school student that is very passionate about law enforcement. I am very exited to enter this career, but I don't think college would be helpful for me or provide me with the life skills that the military does. I'm very patriotic, and would love serving my country. Would Military Police be a good choice?

The military,  in any job or branch,  will give you three things toward a career in law enforcement

1. A steady work history

2. Veterans Preference Points in the hiring process

3. A source of funds - the GI Bill - to use to get the required education,  training and certifications required to get hired by whatever law enforcement agency you are looking at working for

Like I said.  You will get all three of those regardless of job or branch.  The military will not train or certify you to be a Cop in the civilian world

You really don't get to pick what you want to do you can pick a branch like national guard or marines but then based on how you do on the tests they give you they place you in what they think you'll be best at

being a military Police officer equivalent will NOT help in ay way shape or form get hired as a civilian LEO.  it it will probably hurt.   ANY other job would be far better

Wine said it nicely...I will add that I do know two Orange County (Florida) SWAT members who were in my old unit...so their combat and weapons experience definitely helped them get on SWAT.
