Removing Mossberg 835 Front Sight?

You may have to clamp the barrel in a vise (with padded jaws) and use a hammer and punch to drift the sight out if it's in a dovetail. I have an 835 w/ slug barrel, but I don't have irons on it so I don't know how exactly it's attached. I suspect youtube will yield better results than anything here.

My general opinion, though, is that if it's too dark to see the front sight, it's probably too dark to properly identify your target. In my area there are certain antler restrictions, and you don't want to shoot something that you thought had enough points but was a few short. Those sights are at their best when you need to quickly acquire your target, not for shooting in low light. In fact, those sights don't glow at all in the dark, so they are pretty much the same as a standard iron when it's that dark out. Just something to think about.

It depends on what you want to modify. I would try a local gun shop.
