Searching for the name of a (military?) flag?
Hey guys,
I saw a certain flag twice in the famous TV series JAG. Now I ask you to help me to identify it. Thanks a lot!
It has a red frame, the rest is white and in the middle there is a yellow star.
It could have something to do with the USMC or the Navy. I'm not 100% sure about the exact colors...
On TV the flag (or piece of fabric/cloth) appeared hanging behind a window in a family's home.

The Gold Star flag came about in WW1 and was used to represent mothers who lost sons or daughters in the war. Blue stars represented living children serving.
The tradition has continued and there is an organization called "American Gold Star Mothers, Inc.," which is a social, non-political organization providing support to those mothers who have lost a child or children in service to the United States.

It's a Gold Star flag, given to parents or spouse of a dead US Armed Forces member. The gold star is edged in blue. Also look up "blue star flag".
