Making jerky in a dehydrator?
I have only used the dehydrator for fruit and veggies and I would like to try making chicken jerky with it. If you have done it, please give me some hints.

I made some with a box fan and some air filters once. I thought that turned out better than any jerky I made in a dehydrator, to be honest.
I would say - turn the dehydrator on it's lowest temperature setting and leave it in there longer (it might take a really long time, but it will dehydrate eventually).
And don't worry about salmonella (too much) - because dehydrating eliminates most of the water, and bacteria can't really live without it.

My husband makes Turkey jerky all the time in his dehydrator. He gets the ground honeysuckle white turkey, and mixes all the seasoning and cure into it. It's the same consistency as using hamburger. I'm sure you could find ground chicken the same way. It looks like the same packaging as breakfast sausage. and people LOVE his jerky lol
