Just called the cops cause I heard someone screaming, what do you think will happen?
I by chance had my window cracked and was up, and I am 99% sure I heard a woman screaming pretty loudly for about 20 seconds. It sounded like she was fighting, but since I live right beside a park, it could have, by the off chance, also been cats or something. I didn't know, and it kinda freaked me out, so I called the cops and told them. They are now sending officers to check the area.
My question is this: What if what I heard was nothing? I figured I'd be better safe than sorry and call, but what if they find nothing? Will that cause issues for me?

Definitely better safe than sorry. Lots of people hear things like that and never do anything about it, figuring that they misheard the sound, or thinking somebody else will take care of it. If there was a woman being attacked, or even if there was a fight between two people or two women, having police check it out will only help the situation. If a woman was being attacked, it surely makes all the difference to her that the police were called.
If what you heard was nothing, then it was just that; nothing. Not a big deal. Even if you misheard, the police are still there to check on things like that. I once thought that somebody had entered my house while I was home alone for the weekend. I was in my bedroom on the 3rd floor, and I heard a huge crash downstairs. So I freaked out, locked myself on the 3rd story, and called the police. Turns out my parents had just come home a day early. The officers were very kind and told me that I was right to call rather than investigate. You did good- always report anything that makes you think somebody is in danger! Besides the occasional douchebag officer, the majority are completely alright with checking things out, and are probably relieved when nothing comes of it anyhow :)

Well, if they do find something then you helped the situation, if nothing happened or they didn't then it's better to have called than to just hear a fight and let it go on.
It's a high possibility that there was a fight, major or minor they might find something, if they don't then so what?
I don't think it will cause any issues for you tho, don't worry about it for now, ask your neighbors tomorrow morning if they heard anything last night.

you should call the cops! if actual everyone assumes that somebody else is going to call, then no person will. do no longer flow available, some loopy stuff ought to truly flow down. till their is a newborn being harm or something. My coverage- call the cops suited away, earlier it gets to that- Take care

No just explain how you heard a woman screaming and that you thought there was a robber in a next door house.
