Isn't it just immoral to go on vacay for 21 days?

The prospect of pitching over the federal "fiscal cliff" isn't stopping the White House from moving forward with President Obama's year-end Hawaii vacation plans.

Even as Republicans and Democrats report minimal progress so far in talks to meet a deadline to avoid sharp tax hikes and spending cuts, the White House was moving forward with the first family's and friends' $4 million vacation to Mr. Obama's native state.

when Hurricane Sandy victims are homeless by the 10s of thousands and Obama's promise to make sure they got prompt help was a lie?

google "sandy victims angry"

Update:

i agree with Greta who says it's indecent for the President or for anyone in Congress to go on vacation or leave the Capitol until they've come to some agreement or some decision.

they ALL created this problem, they've known about this deadline for 1.5 years, they need to do their job.

Nothing Obama would do is going to fix the 'fiscal cliff'

America went over that cliff when we got Obamacare.

They might just as well go on vacation.

The only problem with their vacations is that they do not pay for them themselves.

They expect the taxpayers to fund their extravagant parties.

As a conservative I'm annoyed that Republicans and Democrats can't compromise to cut Social and Defense spending.

As a fellow Christian and human being. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas Mr. President.

Of course not. What nonsense. Unless Obama plans to vacation on Mars, he will be completely accessible. Besides, the president has been very clear in his proposal and we know what happens if the GOP stalls. Why pretend there is suspense? If the GOP wants to deal, they have time and opportunity to get some work done. The Dems are completely ready.

The Washington Times is a Right wing rag not worth reading...certainly not worth quoting. LOL

Nonsense. Congress isn't in session. Obama can't work on the fiscal cliff without congress, so he might as well go on vacation over the Christmas holiday.....while Congress is already on holiday.

Obama should be encouraged to go on vacation for 4 years. The Country would thank him.

Perhaps you've missed the fact that Congress itself is only going to be in session for eight days this month. Eight days. And four of those days have passed.

  • I love how you guys have convenient amnesia about Bush's vacations, or any other president's vacations, for that matter.

That all depends if you're the vacationor or the vacationee

Those golf balls aren't going to hit themselves.

Obama has a responsibility to those golf balls.
