Will I have a chance at this job? Help!!?
I have a job interview but I did not list my current position on my resume. Help anyone?
I got a job interview for a position similar to my previous. I left my job 2 months ago to pursue another opportunity but it is not anywhere near challenging as my old one. So I saw a job listing where my skills and passion can be better put to use. I did not list my current position because I have only been there a short time. I did however include on the resume that I no longer work at my previous position. I was planning to tell them during the interview that I left to pursue an opportunity that I thought would be more challenging. And even though I am def. learning a lot, it did not turn out to be what I was looking for. Will this affect my chances? It was a complete career change by the way. Still helping people but in another capacity. I do not have a history of job hoping and I have a phone interview already scheduled. Do you think I have a shot?

Different interviewers do react differently to this kind of situation.
Some people (and I am among them) end up thinking "well, what else are they concealing from us?". At the very least, it makes my job harder when I prepare for interviews, if people are suddenly going to dump extra (and relevant) information on me.
In some cases it can be worth being a little vague about some answers. You might not want to be wholeheartedly honest about why you left a job on a form (although you always tell an employer anything detrimental that they are going to find out anyway)
You can't change what has happened this time but you might want to consider that, in future, putting all your jobs on your resume - and why you left them - is probably a safer bet
