I have a job interview but I did not list my current position on my resume. Help anyone?
I got a job interview for a position similar to my previous. I left my job 2 months ago to pursue another opportunity but it is not anywhere near challenging as my old one. So I saw a job listing where my skills and passion can be better put to use. I did not list my current position because I have only been there a short time. I did however include on the resume that I no longer work at my previous position. I was planning to tell them during the interview that I left to pursue an opportunity that I thought would be more challenging. And even though I am def. learning a lot, it did not turn out to be what I was looking for. Will this affect my chances? It was a complete career change by the way. Still helping people but in another capacity. I do not have a history of job hoping and I have a phone interview already scheduled. Do you think I have a shot?

Never volunteer any negative information about yourself.
Don't testify against yourself. If asked your greatest weakness,
reply with a weakness you have conquered, or tell the
interviewer about a weakness that may actually indicate a
strength, like "sometimes I get impatient with teammates who
are not as organized as I am." Don't ever describe any job
requirement or task that you did not like.

Hi Mme55:
Go ahead and do the phone interview and if you are required to do paperwork, then include the missing information. I have learn't that it is better to wait until asked before volunteering too much information.
Some companies will do a background check on you before interviewing you, so they may find out about any missing information. If that happens, take the time to think before responding as your answer will determine whether they hire you. If you prove to them that you were not planning to deceive them, then yes - you still have a chance at the job. If they feel you committed fraud - your chances decrease.
Some industries allow job applicants to eliminate certain information as it is not relevant to the position you are applying to. So relax and enjoy your phone interview and before you know it, you will have a job offer in hand.
