Mothers of big babies, do people expect more of your child?

Yes my whole family was like that towards my son. He was around the same weight and that age and everyone thought he was 8 months or older. They expected him to hit every milestone faster. My son was an early roller at 2 months started crawling around 3.5 months and sitting at 4 now at 8 months he's taking his first steps. However he is not talking or getting teeth

there is a 3 lb difference between my 6 month old twins. My son is 17 lbs and my daughter is 14. I know babies all develop at their own rates but my son has always been more physically developed than my daughter, he rolled over a month before she did, and he's even crawling and almost sitting up now where as she hasn't even started. I think size may equate to better muscle control, being more stable, etc.

But like i said, every baby is different

Not really. When my oldest was 4 months old someone asked me what I was doing for his birthday. I said I hadn't even thought of it since he wasn't even 6 months old. The guy said "Oh sorry, I thought he was older because he's the same size as my 11 month old."

Yes. My baby was 10lb at birth and now he's 15 months old people think he's about 3 years old and i notice people looking when he doesn't speak fluently or is unsteady on his feet. I feel like screaming "he's only 15 months" !

My daughter was nearly 11 pounds when she was born so she has always topped the growth charts. Because she has always looked older, I keep thinking she's behind developmentally compared to othe babies her SIZE, but when I compare her to my niece who is the same AGE, she's spot on, just love your big baby!

my son is around the same age and weeight as urs. but my son is very strong and smart so hes givin me a reason to think high :) but i wish he would act like a newborn lol. but i dont expect anything from him :)

I don't know how that would be like. My baby boy is 11 months old and 19lbs
