Looking to start car restoration to resale, where would be a good place to start.?
I am a true rookie when it comes to anything about cars. I really want get started in restoring and rebuilding to try and make some extra cash. I no its alot of work a whole lot of work. Im trying to find out where would be a good place to start. As far money is concered i mean to start at low end. I am aware of the higher end classics worth more. So I guess what I really need help with is some cheaper classics that would be good to start at. Nothing to pricey. Any help would be great as far as car models and years engines size ext. Thanks!
As of now I'm not to stuck on a particular model or year. Really looking for a good place to start as for a classics that are alittle lower end in price, its a really a money issue if I had the the money I would go after the 69 camero, 69,70,71 SS chevelle, 72 cuda 440 things like that.

Best way to get a million in car restoration? Start with 2 m illion.
You very seldom make a profit in restoring to resale. the cost of the work and parts to bring a car up to sellable quality is often more than you can make on the sale itself.
Look at some classics for sale, and imagine all the expenses that went into making them shiny and driveable.

start by just plain looking around like craigslist or the paper (if you dont get the paper it might have its own online version for free. models to look at anything from the nineties will sell cheap and might have small issues to fix. other models closer to classics are the seventies like the second generation camaro (70-81) they dont sell for a lot like cars from the sixties but they are really cheap to buy, have restoration parts on ebay, and are considered classics by collectors. as far as what engine size to look for no inline or V sixes collectors dont want them and even with a v8 the smallest you should get is 5.0 or a 302 cubic inch (cid). when you resell on craigslist first leave a phone number or people will just keep looking at other listings (cause craigslist email sucks) second add lots of tags by just putting specific words at the bottom. last dont be afraid to look into cars with a model name that makes you assume expensive like porsche and corvette they actually do sell cheap if they need a little love because people want them to be already restored.

It might help to know what type or year car you're interested in?
Try junk yards for cars or parts!
