Eye Surgery for Graves Disease?

May have to have some surgery on my upper lid (lowering). If anyone has had it done or know someone who has, I would be grateful for any opinions or facts about it as I'm getting an information brick wall everywhere I turn. Thanks

I had a patient who had orbital decompression surgery. It took her a while to recover but she is happy with the results now. Removing some of the stuff that is pushing your eyes forward seems like a better idea than changing your eye lids. However your surgeon has seen you and I have not.

Thirty years ago I had an operation for this same problem, unfortunately at the time all that happened was the lid was folded. This did help, but I was never happy with the result. I had a correction two years ago, and this time a piece of skin was taken away and in doing so lifted the lid. Both times I had no pain whatsoever during or after the operations. I say go for it, because once the lid is lifted you will feel so much more confident in yourself. Good luck to you.

Hypothyroidism is the most common thyroid disorder, and it is thought to affect around six to 10 per cent of women. Getting hypothyroidism under control https://tr.im/i3PXG

The prevalence rises with age - up to a quarter of women over the age of 65 years may be affected. Men are also affected, but less frequently. Hypothyroidism can be either primary or secondary. Primary hypothyroidism means that the thyroid gland itself is diseased, while secondary hypothyroidism is caused by problems with the pituitary gland, the brain structure that supervises the thyroid gland. The most common cause of primary hypothyroidism is the autoimmune condition Hashimoto’s disease.
