Deferring Ones Student Loan. .?
I have a student loan that I have deferred for over a decade. Is there a cut of point as to when the SLC either call it in and say I must pay it or wipe the debt and bugger my credit rating.
Any advice will be greatly received.
Any trolls will be reported.
Thanks!

I think the cut-off point for older student loans (taken out pre-1999) came if you had never made a repayment before your 55th birthday - and then the whole debt was null and void, on the basis that your degree had been no boost to your earnings potential. That's certainly what I'm working towards, 12 years of no repayments so far, another 18 to go. I'm not about to call them and ask, but I will stop sending their forms back to them in 2029 and see if they do anything about it.

I don't understand how you have "deferred" it for so long?
As per the terms of taking out the loan once you are earning over the threshold amount you pay back a set amount each month.
In my case, once I was earning over £15K the inland revenue began deducting 9% of any earnings over that amount from my net pay.
What makes you any different from other people? By not paying it back you are stealing.
Grow up, accept responsibilty and pay it off.
<<EDIT>>
I answered the question to the best of my knowledge with regards to employees on the PAYE system - thus the amount being deducted from their pay automatically.
You have not provided sufficient information for someone to answer your question fully.
Are you unemployed? Self-employed? Living abroad? Was yours a pre- or post-1998 loan?

the protection tension has no longer something to do with it. it extremely is as much as the guy banks and loaners. And probability is that in case you may no longer use FAFSA..for regardless of reason..you will no longer qualify for ROTC as you desire a secure practices clearance to be an Officer.
