how much money could the government save?
if they let the churches administer certain social programs? i'm all for food stamps if people need them but i think they should have "In God we Trust" printed on them. As they are printed it is implied that our trust is in the government.

That would solve more problems than you think. It would save billions of dollars in a matter of just a few years because the abuse would almost not exist as the churches would pay more attention to what is going on and help these people improve their lives rather than allowing them to become socially stagnant and dependent on others to support them. Our government system has proven to fall short in this matter. We must start down sizing most of these types of govenment controls if we ever want to balance the government budget.
We still can make a difference, but we must make the effort to vote for people who will not compromize under the pressures they will face in politics. The Tea Party movement is making a difference and if we start letting our congressmen and senators know what we expect from them, it will make a big difference at this time. They are worried about loosing their jobs.
We really need to put our foot down before we loose all our rights and freedoms. There are poeple who want America to fail. We can not let them win. americasroleinrevelation.com

One, we fortunately have a Constitution that prohibits what you have suggested. Two, what would be the advantage of having churches administer these programs rather then having the states do it? Do churches have the staff, buildings, and resouces to do such a thing? Three, food stamps as you've described no longer exist. It's all done by electronic cards now, so it really doesn't matter what's printed on them.

Once upon a time, churches *were* the social service provider. And during that same time, families were strong and depended on each other.
Then came the government. They threw God out of society. God's word was no longer needed. Churches were just places that were "downers" because they taught moral absolutes. Then they weakened the family. "A woman doesn't need a man to raise a huge family." "Kids, if your parents discipline you, you can report them for abuse. We'll put you in our system. It's much better than learning to fit into a family."
Now you want the good old days again, huh? Sorry, but I think it might be too late.

The government can't save any money as the national debt is running away like a snowball down hill, and its been running that way long before Obama came along.
