All military service is honorable - one is no better or worse than the other.

Of course not.
The Marines fall under the Department of the Navy. While I am very devoted to my Corps, our funding comes from the Navy, and the Navy gives us rides. Plus, the ability to anchor off shore with some mighty big guns to help intimidate the enemy is a wonderful aid for the grunts in combat.
The Army is different than the Navy. Army is for the land, Navy is for the Sea. The Air Force was started when the Army Air Corps could no longer do everything that was needed to secure the skies, and the Air Force was born.
All branches have value. All branches have important duties and have served well in times of conflict. Often the members within branches of the Armed Forces will poke fun at the other branches, but that doesn't make one more important than the other.
Let's also not forget that each branch has their own elite units. SEALs, Rangers, Airborne, Recon, Pararescue, and since 9/11 the Coast Guard has an elite maritime safety and security force. Many of these particular individuals would outperform the "regular" members in any other branch, and each elite unit has different responsibilities and training requirements that make them suited for a particular purpose.
I will pick on Navy personnel all day long, every day of the year. But when it boils down to it, the Navy paid me when I was in, and the Navy supplied the Corpsmen when I was in, and the Navy usually transported Marines when I was in. Historically speaking, until the invention of airplanes, a good Navy was THE critical element of a nations defense. The Army almost always came secondary in importance to defending against hostile nations, and the Navy has been in more battles than the Army over the years.
While I make fun of your goofy uniforms, ancient vernacular, and odd customs (much of which the Corps also has adopted), I am very grateful to have a Navy. ALL branches are important in their own way. The only way the Navy is inferior to the Army or Marines is on the ground in combat, but how often does that happen, anyway? Don't let anyone tell you the Navy is crap. Be proud of your service to this country.

If you joined the Navy because you didn't think you had what it takes to be a Soldier or Marine, then yes. If you joined the Navy to defend our Nation against all enemies, then no. Thank you for your service and stop caring what other people think about our Navy. Historically, Navy training and standards tend, across the board, to be easier than the Army or Marine Corps, but not inferior.

I don't consider serving in the Navy to be inferior to serving in the other branches. I joined for the pride and honor of protecting my family and their freedoms. The Navy has it's own time and place in wars, and believe it or not (those who think otherwise) but there are Sailors who help out on the front lines when needed.

what are you talking about ? the navy is a very important branch if it was not for you guy's do you think the united states would exist as a nation ,we would still be under british rule .and heaven forbid if the navy could not hold off the Japanese navy if we lost at midway and they captured the Hawaiian islands and then had a base to try and invade the united from the west coast.

Hello Aide.
NO. There is no military service that is inferior to the other.
EACH service has a distinct MISSION. Only that service can perform that mission.
If you want to sail and take care of you SHIP than the Navy is what it's all about.
Consider the philosophy of the service you are deciding upon. If you mentally match that philosophy than "that" is the service for you.

What's up with looking down on the Navy? Did some sailors stick a pole up your p*ss hole?
I joined the Navy, because I believed that it has the best funded and best trained EOD Unit out of all the branches. So, shut your pie hole and get back to your "Wrestling Section."

No, absolutely not.
Although, where I'm from the Marines are a branch of the Navy.

Some people like the Navy. It's a dirty job but someone has to do it.
The Navy rates high on my list.

depends on at what. at serving your country at fighting the insurgency in iraq or afghan? unless you're one of the very few MOSs that deals with that (seals, eod, corpsman with the marines, etc), inferior isnt reallly the word since the army adn marines are doing something you're just flat out not doing. if you mean serving your country at protecting US interests in meritime environments: you do more.
overall it equals out.
