I own(ed) a 98 ford taurus SE with 155,000 miles on it. moon roof, power seat, power doors and windows. Got T-boned today and the car is totaled. The other driver was at fault. I have no injuries at all, which they said is highly unlikely due to the speed at which I was hit, and they still want me to go to the doctor's. But I'm completely fine, no bruises, cuts or scrapes. fine. In conclusion I told them I'm not going to waste my time with the doctor. I don't wanna get stuck with a bill, ya know? How much $ can I expect to receive from the insurance company for my totaled car?

For the total loss car you are entitled to the car's fair market value. That means what that car could have sold for given its age, condition, options and mileage just prior to the accident.

You should go to the doctor anyway in a day or two,, You would send the bill to the other guys insurance since they were at fault,

As for your car,, I wouldn't expect you to get more than 2500,,, The insurance adjuster will likely low-ball you on the high-mileage so you'll need to look at KBB and NADA values, look thru the autotrader and get the numbers they have been selling for, and if he cuts you too low,, tell him he's too low,

The value of the car.  Look it up on Kelly Blue Book, http://www.kbb.com or at a library that has the hardcopy.  (The website is faster.)
