Not necessary to use diaper rash cream unless your baby has a rash.
Just use a diaper wipe at each changing and then only use rash cream when necessary.

you can but its not necessary. I use corn starch at each change. At any slight sign of redness I put on a bit of cream then the corn starch. My daughter has never had a diaper rash and she sleeps through the night with the same diaper on.
edit: you would think if corn starch harbored bacteria my daughter would have some type of bacterial infection by now after months of using it. Some people are really stupid...it gets wiped off at each diaper change and is no more bacteria harboring then a wet diaper on their sensitive skin.

I use a "creamy" formula (a bit less zinc content) every single night before putting my son to sleep. I don't change him in the middle of the night unless he is really wet or has pooped. Most nights he can make it from ten til seven in the same diaper. I do that to prevent a rash. And it works. He has never had one at all. But during the day, when I change him every couple hours, I don't use anything. I just leave him au natural.

You can if you want but you don't really need to. I only use it when it starts to look like she's getting a diaper rash so it goes away faster.

i know ppl who do, but i dont. if you have a diaper rash a lot, then you may need to switch diapers. and if not it is not necessary to put it on.

My daughter has severely sensitive skin, diapey ointment every change, wipe let dry than apply. Her pediatrician is pleasantly surprised at how good our LO's bum looks as hse has only had 2 rashes and NONE since we do it that way.

Don't use corn starch. It harbors bacteria. You only need it if baby has a rash.
