Forgot to soak the beans. Help please!?
I was a dummy and went to bed last night and forgot to soak the beans last night. So I got up this morning and did my morning thing and around 11 am I realized I forgot to soak the beans.
I have already picked through them and rinsed them and put them on the stove. I have added smokehouse meat to the pot and the are at a soft boil and have been at a soft boil for about 2 hours.
My question is how long will they take to cook because I did not presoak them? Will they still be okay because I did not presoak? I have never put them straight out of the bag into the pot. I have always presoaked overnight.
These are your regular white beans. 1 and 1/2 pounds.

I seldom ever presoak beans ,I pick through them,wash them,pit them in a pressure cooker,cover with cold water and seasonings,cook at 10 lbs pressure for a couple hours, turn the burner off and let the pressre come down naturally. Seems to me white beans cook faster than the dark beans tho'.

If the beans aren't too old and have become super dry and tough, I don't soak them.

place beans in large pot...cover with water and bring to boil...let boil for 5 mins remove from heat cover and let set for one hour....drain water and return to pan,cover with fresh water ,bring to a boil ,turn to a simmer until tender.
