Is anyone else aware that our Naval base in San Diego is in the shape of a nazi swastika?

It's just a barracks building. The barracks is on the Coronado Naval Base. It was originally in the shape of a +. In the 1960s the barracks was expanded by adding the arms that make it resemble a swastika. I don't doubt that the contractor knew that. But it wasn't apparent from the ground, it wasn't over any flight paths and in 1960 no one could have guessed that Google Earth would ever exist. So no one really cared, as long as it met the extra billeting requirements for the Vietnam era. The USN is going to spend about a half-million tax dollars to fix it. Probably just as well. I wish we could knock down or renovate all 50 year old barracks.

The only swastika shape of a Navy base in San Diego is one little building on Naval Amphib Base... You show your ignorance because you obviously have no idea what Naval Base San Diego is shaped like (and if you mean our naval base in San Diego, you realize we have four, right?)

you do know that the swastika sign that we know of today and always relate back to Nazi is actually a constantly recycled religious symbol meaning peace and long life? google it. its been used for thousands of years. and **** it might have been an error or the designers wanted to be comedians
