By remembering how Jesus forgives you.

It isn't the easy, one-step process some people would have you believe. When the wound goes deep, it can take awhile. Often, the best way to begin is to pray about it. Tell God how you have been hurt, and how you are struggling with forgiveness. And try to pray for the other person. You don't have to be fake about it. Just say, "Lord, I have a lot of anger toward her right now, and You know that. But I'm asking You to bless this person in some way and do something good in her life. Help her to see if she has done me wrong. And help me to get past it and move on. Lord, I ask You to take the bitterness and the hurt from me, and set me free from them, in Jesus' name." You may have to talk to God about this more than once. Whatever it takes. But it is very hard to remain bitter toward a person you are praying for.

It's not always easy. It may not happen overnight, but you have to really work on it. I like writing. Write down what the person did, and how you felt; acknowledge your anger. Then you have to forgive with all your heart, to the point where when you think about the situation, you're not even mad anymore. You have to let it go, and may I add you don't forgive for them, you forgive for you, because you can't be completely free until you rid your heart of all the hate and anger. I hope I helped!

You tell them if you can. In forgiving you let go of the resentment. And I found that it is a paradox to forgive; the reason to forgive is for you, yet it is not selfish. To forgive is to set yourself free of resentment towards a person. But if it was a selfish reason, then it wouldn't be so hard to do, yet it is.

So no matter if they take your forgiving and throw it back in your face, remember that you are forgiving for yourself. If it helps them then there is peace between you, but don't assume they will take it well.

There's no magic wand for this, unfortunately. The ease with which I can forgive a person often depends on the degree to which that person has wronged me and how penitent he/she is. However, Jesus doesn't exactly work like that, does He? No, He offers forgiveness to all who accept it, to all who accept Him as their Lord and Savior.

My best advice is to pray for the people who you want to forgive. Don't pray that they realize what jerks they're being or anything snarky like that. Pray for good things to happen to them, pray that God will bless them, etc. And pray for God to change your heart that you will be able to accept the wrong this person did to you and move on; once you can do that, you'll be able to forgive.

I find it's hard to continue being mad at someone if I'm earnestly praying for their well-being and earnestly praying for my own humility. I'm not saying this is easy or that this is a magic wand, but I will say that it's the approach that most helped me with my forgiveness issues. :)

God bless, and best wishes. :)

What helps me to forgive is when I realize that the word of God says that if we don't forgive others he won't forgive us.

Also when you choose not to forgive you are giving the person who did you wrong control over your emotions.

You just have to make a decision that no matter what they did to you it's not worth God not forgiving you when you mess up and you refuse to allow your emotions to be controlled by those who have done you wrong

Let your anger out on your own, scream into a pillow...or if you are sad cry for a while, if you feel like talking writing something down in a journal or talk to someone...once this is over you will feel like you will have the energy to TRY to forgive. if you can't now you are only human, and you will be able to forgive later.

only a hypocrite explains to you to turn the other cheek....in reality it will be hard for you to forgive someone who has done you a BIG wrong. Little ones I agree that you can easily forget and forgive BUT, big ones that scar your heart are tough to swallow. I think this is where prayer for your God comes in. If this man JESUS gave his life for all of us, then surely he must continue to help in all matters including one as this one.

A lot of times it is hard to forgive someone. But through Jesus Christ do we have the strength to forgive someone and remember that through him we are also forgiven, no matter what we have done. Give what they have done completely to God, ask him to forgive them and to take what they did away from your life. You cant fester and dwell on it because you wouldn't be truly forgiving them and it will only make you angry (I know its harder to say then to do) Its not by you but rather by Jesus Christ that they can be forgiven for there sin.

May all praise and Glory be given to our Lord and Savior to Jesus Christ!!! :)!!

Get Down on your Knees in Prayer to GOD Almighty.

Tell HIM that you Want to Forgive this Person (even though every thing inside of you Wants "Revenge")

Tell GOD you Want to Forgive this Person "On Purpose".

Then, Forgive this Person, in Front of GOD (in your Closet)

Then Ask GOD to Cleanse YOU of All UnForgiveness.

    NOW, (This IS "The Kicker"!!!)

BELIEVE that GOD has Cleansed YOU of ALL UnForgiveness----Towards that Person.

AND, the NEXT TIME you SEE that Person----"Act" like that Person---Has NEVER Wronged YOU.

this is the Hardest Part of "Forgiveness".

Treat that Person that you Forgave---( After you Forgave that Person)

like they never did it to begin with.

IF you will Walk in Faith after you Forgive---THE POWER of GOD Almighty WILL----Change Things and that Person Just Might Become your "Friend".

This is a Tuff Thing to Do, but GOD Does Not Lie.

Do It, and YOU will See "Deliverance from", revenge.

Through prayer and patience. The bible says to pray for wisdom and understanding. It says wisdom is more important than gold. Pray for wisdom and understanding for your current situation.

    James 1:5

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

I know it seems weird, but my Christian life really changed when I asked God for understanding and wisdom. I learned how to be a more patient, understanding person and truthfully, a lot of spiritual things I didn't understand made more sense to me. Sounds weird, but I'm not sitting here trying to type up lies to you. My experiences are my own.

Try it and see what happens.
