What is basic training like in the British Army?
I am rather interested in personal experiences (not too detailed, don't worry ;)). How do you feel in basic training? Do they talk to you or do they yell all the time? Do you get to talk to your families while you're in basic training? Can you even go home? What do you learn there (besides drill, shooting, etc.)?

It turned a boy into this man, I love every second of it.
You usually get free time of an evening to call loved ones, and there is a "Parents day" in week four when loved ones can visit.No leave home until after week seven.That's a guarantee.
The Infantryman course is just that,and takes place at catterick(ITC)

Im also thinking of joining up, my husband says the training is easy but hard work, here's a link to a training page. You can gent to go home for a long weekend half way through training.
