Chopped snake still moving.?

Question

I've watched this chinese cooking show where they serve a chopped snake in a plate. anyway in the show, they beheaded the snake, removed the outer skin, removed the intestine and other internal organs ,chopped it to pieces and serve it in the plate. when the camera focus on the plate the chopped pieces of snake were still moving, whats the explanation for this? i've tried to search it but couldnt find any answer...it's realy interesting though...

Not sure; it's a neurological thing...but the same principle that makes a chicken hop around after its head is cut off. Hence the saying: 'like a chicken with its head cut off', when one refers to someone who acts frantically and accomplishes nothing.

probably just the nerves.  unless they're like worms and when they're chopped they just grow a new head and everything and then you've got 2 worms!
