Why do some police officers act like they are better than civilians?

Why do some people act like they are better then others, might be a better phraseology for this question.

I know what you are insinuating, but; believe me when I say, I have in my life time, met obnoxious people, from every job and walk of life you can mention or imagine.

I always feel sorry for those people, as they have an inferiority complex, or some other irrational ego trip dilemma.

In every barrel lies a rotten apple, just don't let it (infect /affect /effect) you.

Just ignore ignorance, it will go away when it cannot rise a comment from you or solicit a response.

If you want to maintain control then you must come out strong and firm. If the police man doesnt know you he doesn t know what to expect. Walking up to your car could be the last thing he or she ever does. I ran into a police man the other day and he had a real chip on his shoulder, who knows what his problem was but Im sure if I needed him to defend me against a killer he would have done his job as they did in 9-11. Lets cut them some slack until they are obviously wrong.

why do civilians act like they are better then everyone else? I'm not law enforcement, but i'm a fire fighter and I see some of the people they have to deal with. People are idiots and yell abuse when they don't obey to simple commands from the police and get put down hard. Obey the law and you wont have a problem. If you do get pulled over, treat them with respect and you'll get the same back. Act like a idiot and you'll be treated like one. We as adults are not 12 anymore. it's time for people to start acting like adults these days

It's just the way it is.

It's not the profession, the profession is all your seeing........not everyone gets along and is nice to one another. Everyone has personality conflicts with other people.

Why are some people rude to others walking down the street because someone is in their way and others are polite, move aside, or say excuse me?

Their job is to protect and serve the community. If you had to put up with the type of people they have to deal with on a regular basis, you might have a different opinion of them.

Maybe because police are armed tax collectors looking to stick their hand in your coin purse.

Also when I see a cop speeding (no lights on) while talking on the cell phone (both of which are illegal in my state) it creates resentment like oh look at that douche nozzle.

obviously any kind of career u want to pick will have obnoxious peopl and nice people.

Because that is the way they are raised, and the law lets them think that.
