Can I give my employees a new contract under TUPE?
I took over a business in the UK with 12 staff (Actually 6 staff is enough) under TUPE. They never had a written contract with previous owner. many of them related to the ex owner. Now they teamed up & saying their hourly pay rate is £7.25, Yearly holiday is 30days, Some does not work on weekends & previous owner also agree that. An ex staff told me that the actual rate was National minimum wages. I am wasting my money & giving over 100 extra hours to follow the TUPE rules.
I've been told that I can give a new contract after 3 months. If yes can I reduce their hours or Pay rate?
Is there a minumum period, before make any changes to the contract? can I reduce hours?

You can make some changes to the terms and conditions inluding cuttting holidays and pay but if these are large cuts then you could be taken to a tribunal for constructive dismissal.
Note - as of a few days ago the statutory mimimum is 28 days paid holiday pa, inc bank holidays for someone who works a regular 5 day week. so you do not have to go below that. You do not have to give additional days off for bank hloidays and never have had to.
