Does Big Bang discussion belong in Religion section?

I am wondering: I have posted a question about the Big Bang and I specifically posted it in the Religion section...because to me, people's faith in things they can not see or recreate that involve a deity or not, are both faith...and therefore pose Religious concerns to me. Is the discussion of Big Bang only a scientific question?

Sure it does. Unless they create a sub-section for pseudo-religion, for our atheist crowd.

If you want an accurate scientific description or particular details of the Big Bang theory, then you should ask your question in the Science section. However, if you want to discuss and ask questions regarding the religious implications of the scientific theory, then R&S works just fine.

I think it kind of does... big bang theory is on the very outskirts at the moment, pariculary when it comes to how it started and what exactly galvanised the singularity into expanding like it did. To quote Bill Bryson "These are very close to religious questions"

No, it belongs in the Astronomy and Space section.

Things that involve actual evidence and the scientific method belong over in science. This includes the Big Bang, and evolution. However, nothing stops people from posting them wherever they want.

Yes, because the notion of faith is a misplaced one: scientists are attempting to find evidence (some of which exists already) to substantiate the big bang.

    Religion is just about faith

it's only a religiouss issue if you think that the big bang threatens your view of divine creation.

great point on both sides . neither one can prove without a doubt that either is right or wrong . but the fact is that both reinforce the other . they both tell the same thing . a beginning of creation know as earth . the same can be said about those that say Christianity is not a science . science is a study of . and to those that say science is not a religion . Religion is the belief of something that can not be proved true or false .

If your talking about the theory in a scientific way, then it's a scientific question. If your talking about it as an alternative to creationism and comparing the two, then it's religious.

Yes it does. Religion and spirituality cannot disallow scientific theories and discoveries. Its all part of the whole. If religions knew more about science, other religions, etc. others would be more inclined to listen to them. Jesus left the spirit of truth when he ascended and stated it would guide us into all truth. I believe this spirit of truth is knowledgeable energy and dwells within all of us.

It should be in the science section if you want a scientific answer.
