  • What is the primary reason for Answers.Yahoo.Com?

    I struggle a bit: what is the purpose? Does Yahoo think its name reflects the true purpose of this site? Asking questions and getting answers? Frankly I think this is a subversive rant site disguised as something mainstream. The number of anti-Christian comments on here is quite notable...and the value of the questions and answers that don't have to do with bashing people and their choices in philosophy or faith seems to be near zero.

    Is this just a site filled with haters and their arrogant opinions? or is this a site with a functional purpose more like Ask.com?

  • Does Big Bang discussion belong in Religion section?

    I am wondering: I have posted a question about the Big Bang and I specifically posted it in the Religion section...because to me, people's faith in things they can not see or recreate that involve a deity or not, are both faith...and therefore pose Religious concerns to me. Is the discussion of Big Bang only a scientific question?

  • What happened before the Big Bang?

    I am concerned that the notion being forwarded by mainstream science and media regarding the Big Bang theory is fundamentally flawed in that, among other things, it leaves out what happened beforehand. I mean, having an idea of how the current state of the Universe came to be is interesting, but seems like only the latest chapter in a very, very long book. I have some of my own ideas but I wonder what others think: what happened before the Big Bang?

  • When did Time begin? Before or At the Same Time as the Universe?

    Did time begin before or exactly at the moment the Universe began? If time began exactly at the moment the Universe began, what happened BEFORE the Universe began? And, doesn't that very notion of "before the Universe" imply that Time began beforehand? And, further, doesn't that also imply that matter existed before the Universe...and would constitute the Universe as it was before Big Bang? Doesn't that just mean the Big Bang was an explosion of an existing Universe? Sort of like...it just started over?
