this is actually a good way to get a first look at how reputable the photographer is.... typically, a good, reputable photographer will not charge anything for a meeting. They will be interested in meeting with you, offer ideas regarding how to best shoot your day and events, and try to make you happy.

And, as you are looking for someone, remember that their personality is just as important as their talent and prices. You will be spending the most important day of your life (so far anyway!) with them, and you want to be enjoyable! Happy Hunting!

I don't know any wedding photographer who charges for a consultation. I certainly never have and never will.

Depends on the photographer, but most will include the consultation as their fee.

I've never paid for a consultation and I would never pay. They're supposed to be out to get your business, not the other way around.
