  • My landlord wants to move back in?

My landlord's fiancée passed away over the weekend. She owns/owned the house my landlord and her live in and he owns the house we are renting. Our lease ends in August of this year. He is looking to move into his house, basically booting us out. He can't do that, right? He still has to honor the lease until it is up, correct?

PS, we live in New Jersey.

  • How to get number to local police if you don't know the area?

Yesterday I was in a hit-and-run. The lady was at a stop sign and didn't bother to look before she pulled out. She nearly T-Boned me, but thankfully as I was laying on my horn I swung my car enough so that she only tapped me.

I admit that I'm not very good at the whole "What to do incase of an accident". The area I was in isn't someplace I visit regularly, so I didn't know the number of the cops. She took off before I could take a look at the vehicle and assess if there was damage (which somehow, thankfully there was not!).

I know it sounds retarded, but this isn't something I call 911 for right? Would I really have to call Information for the local cops? I hate calling that number because my cell phone charges an outrageous price for one information number and half the time I don't get connected to the right place.

    Just curious. Thanks.

  • Behavioral change in cat?

My boyfriend has had his cat for 16 years. During those 16 years, she was always loyal and obedient towards him. We would joke that I was her competition.

In the last month, she's done a 180 on him. While I'm away from work she will cower under the covers or just ignore him. We had to put baby locks on the kitchen cabinets since she started crawling into them to hide. The only time she will appear is if I'm around.

Tonight she actually growled at my boyfriend. He got up to see what was wrong, but she ran off and hid under the christmas tree crying. she stopped when he went back upstairs.

I'm concerned that this is more a behavior change based on a medical issue rather than only behavioral since she is older. This past September we had her tested for hypothyroid, but her thyroid was considered normal. the vet told us to come back in 6 mos to have it checked again since the thyroid levels were in the higher end of the normal range.

Is this worth a trip to the vet (she charges $61 per office visit) or could it be something that can be resolved? I don't believe anything (smells, situations, etc) has changed, particularly when I'm gone.

  • Should I be worried about the ex-tenant?

My boyfriend and I moved in back in September. I received mail, but my boyfriend didn't. Thinking it was a post office issue, he reapplied to have his mail forwarded from the old address (I also double checked the old mailbox while we still had the key and he didn't have mail there).

After 2-3 weeks of this, a package slip is stuck to the door for the previous tenant indicating he has a package ready to be picked up. A few days later, the previous tenant also received something from Quick Cash. We figured this guy still had access to the mailbox and was taking my boyfriend's mail [by accident?] since they had the same last name. So the mailbox lock and key were promptly changed via the post office.

Yesterday I came home and found a small package for our landlord. It wasn't my boyfriend's handwriting, but the return address was our address and [this part weirds me out] the "address to" is for the address of the landlord...not this address.

I haven't touched it and don't think I want to touch. I know as a good Samaritan I should just place stamps on it and stick it in the mail, but I really don't want to get that involved. I'm just weirded out since this guy (who took my boyfriend's mail and never returned it) came up to our front door.

  • Why do I sneeze after drinking?

For some reason, I sneeze immediately after taking a drink of water or soda. This just started happening in the last day or two. The kind of soda has not changed and the water is bottled water.

    Any thoughts?

  • Why won't my auto insurance cover me for renters insurance?

They claim that since I live less than 5 miles from a coast line, they won't cover me. I guess I'm confused as most renters insurance doesn't cover water damage or flooding anyway. So why would this be a factor?

  • If I left eggs in the car for 2-3 hours, are they still good?

The weather was 65-70-something and rainy during that time. Just want to know if I should keep them or chuck them.

  • Do you have to attach a Keurig Coffeemaker to your water line ?

Or can you fill it with water?

I tried finding the answer on Keurig's site, and the only one I've seen is attached to a water line. I'm just curious if you can take water, fill the reserve with it on your own, then refill as needed.

    Thx

  • Other than length, what is the difference between an 8 M and a 7.5 W shoe size?

    women's shoes.

7.5 M is too tight and crunches my pinkie toes. 8 are great for width, but they're too long for me.

    So I"m just curious if there's a difference if I bought a 7.5 W rather than 8 M in length.

  • Can indoor cats get fleas without humans knowing?

This question has been in my head for while.

A few months back our vet found "flea dirt" on one of our cats and prescribed a flea treatment. When I brought the cat and Rx home, my boyfriend said that he doubted the diagnosis. His theory was if we had fleas, they would be attacking us as well as the cats.

At the time, only two cats had visible flea dirt, but everyone was treated. We no longer have any flea indicators.

    Thoughts?

  • Just received my 1099-R?

The last company I worked for was my first time having a 401(k), which when I left I rolled over into my own IRA Rollover. So I didn't realize I was getting a 1099-R (postmark was Feb 27).

I've already finished and submitted my taxes. Will this rollover effect my taxes causing me to have to amend my taxes?

I'm really ticked off with this company since I thought anything to do with taxes had to be postmarked by Jan 31?!

  • How long after a having a bypass done is it before you can get an MRI?

Friend has a shoulder injury and the doctor's can't figure it out without an MRI, but they said if they do an MRI, the staples from his bypass will rip out.

However, no one has said (or answered) how long he has to wait.

  • Are black ankle tights with this sweater?

I bought what I thought were leggings to wear with a cute sweater that just covers my bum.

Turns out the leggings are actually black opaque tights. Can I still wear these with something that short?

  • How different (morally) is running over a cat than a squirrel?

I only ask as I witnessed someone hit a cat last night with their car. Feral cats are abundant in my neighborhood, but there's always that "possibility" of it being owned by someone.

Do cats have the same rights as human pedestrians?

  • Where's the logic in this diet?

My boyfriend is in the hospital for heart issues right now. He's 6'2, 160 lbs, diabetic (Type 1).

The doctor has put him on a 1800 calorie a day diet and won't tell him why. He's been in since last Thursday and has lost close to 10 lbs.

Did this happen to anyone else and did the doctor give you a reason behind it?

  • Why am I beginning to see XHTML tags integrated with HTML tags?

My first thought was that the book was wrong. I have been doing HTML for 10 years and this is the first time I read in a book to use the <br /> for HTML, along with the <img src="..." />. Yet I look it up and those tags are defined as XHTML.

I then open up Dreamweaver 8 and the coding is like that when you create an HTML page.

Is there going to be a huge shift and HTML will become an "ancient" language???
