Hate Crimes: Why is it okay for Gays to physically attack little old ladies for disagreeing with them?

It seems extreme liberals are eager to label preachers as promoting hate speech if they say homosexuality is morally wrong but it is somehow okay to attack and bully little old ladies or employees of businesses who donated to Prop 8. Please tell me how that is not a hate crime?

This is America and we have a right to express an opinion in a non-violent manner unless of course you are a Christian or a conservative who believes homosexuality is a sin. If that is the case, you are "filled with hate and a bigot". You can be a liberal-Christian and promote homosexuality. That is approved of by the extreme liberals. And now it would seem that it is now okay to attack anyone who thinks homosexuality is a sin even if they are 68 years old. Of course, we all know attacking 68 year old ladies has nothing to do with a hate crime against Christians.

Who is really filled with hate? The people who are acting within the law and exercising their right to sign petitions, donate to campaigns and vote or the people who are destroying property and attacking little old ladies?

Update 2:

To Midnight: It sickens me that anyone is attacked but the people being attacked in CA are not the ones who committed those crimes. The ones who committed the assaults/murders are the ones that should be prosecuted under the law.

I am sure you are not saying that attacking innocent people is ever good or right. It is the extremes on both sides that are filled with hate. My point is hate is hate and murder is murder. Either way a life is lost and friends and family are left to grieve. Under our current law certain groups are protected under so-called hate laws but the consequences of evil is the same. My life or death is not worth more than yours regardless of my religion or sexuality or any other reason. Violence is NOT okay regardless of the reason.

Christian bashing has become quite popular these days and obviously some extremists think "bashing" is literal and okay. Why the double standard? People have the right to express an opinion, sign a petition and vote.

The real haters are on the loose. They came out of their closets and have exposed who they really are.

They are not pretty and not full of love.

The media doesn't like to cover what doesn't fit their agenda.

Your right, there is a double standard, and it is sickening.

I heard a lot of the immorality has been held back from having a Christian President in the White House. Funny how all the devils are coming out of the woodwork now that Obama is going to be President.

None of this surprises me, but it still upsets me. I know this has all been predicted from the bible that they would behave this way. Calling what is wrong right, and was is right wrong.

Did you hear about the man who ripped a cross out of the hands of an older woman in Florida?. These are the ones calling us hateful.

They talk fake, but get them upset, and you will see a demonic spirit come over them.

I don't agree with midnight. I think his vision is tainted. It is much more likely for a gay to disparage a Christian than the reverse. I'm not talking about extremes, but just typical attitude. I think they need to get over it. Christians are not in gays' faces, but just the reverse.

Those most likely to be bashing gays is rednecks and not Christians. We all know that and they know that. However, they will attack Christians since they get the support of the atheists, that will use any opportunity to bash Christians. They won't consider that most people in California doesn't want them to marry and tries to come up with a cause to point the finger... so they point it at Christians. Why not point it a heterosexual rednecks, people that find that behavior disgusting, or people who is frightened they might be gay themselves (homophobes)?

It's much to do about nothing and just makes gays look too emotional and unstable. Trying to suppress someone's freedom of speech is the very reason I don't support ANY gay rights. I use to support their choice, but now that they want to suppress other's freedom of speech, I am now against even their homosexual practice in their own homes in private. It's like a little child that runs up and puts his/her hand on your mouth because they don't want to hear what you say. Like I said, too emotional and it is a defect in society that should be prevented so no person will interfere in the freedom of speech.

I think it should be a hate crime anytime that a heterosexual is attacked by a gay because he/she is heterosexual. Let's get that on the books first, for the protection of the many and worry about the few later. Heterosexuals should not be intimidated by a gay look of hatred or sly remarks. They shouldn't be allowed to talk about hetrosexuals in a negative way. Let them reform first and let's see if they have what it takes to control their own anger against hetrosexuals, both Christian and non-Christian.

As a glbt rights supporter, I do NOT approve of any of the violence going on in response to prop 8 and the other votes. However, religion IS protected under ALL hate crime laws nation wide. If it is found that woman was attacked based on her religion, the attacker will be charged as a hate crime. However, sexual orientation is NOT protected under all hate crimes laws. Is it honestly any better that people can attack gays based on their sexuality and not be charged with a hate crime? Again, I deplore the violence that is going on here, but after years of brutal physical attacks people have made towards the glbt group..... well.... the gays arent the ones who attacked first.

How many glbt supporters have had THEIR property destroyed??? I had my windsheild busted 5 times during the 3 months I had a rainbow equality sticker on my car. I finally had to take it off because I just couldnt afford to keep replacing my windows.

All I am saying here, is that this violence has been going on for a lot longer than the last few weeks, and it started with the people against gay rights, NOT those for it. Open your eyes.

Quelle(n): More links to crimes against gay people http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcMEL3_YsVI&feature... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mksz043x-HA Screw posting individual links... here is a whole list of videos telling of gay hate crimes and brutal beatings based on sexual orientation. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=gay+ha... EDIT: I sent you a private message explaining this a lil... I was gonna paste it in here but I lost the text. I am NOT saying I approve of this. I dont. I am NOT bashing Christians, either. I am simply saying that after generations of being attacked by groups calling themselves Christians, you have to expect them to fight back. Its not right, but its what happens 9.9 times out of 10. You talk about these things as if it is unprovoked, as if the Chiristian group has never brutally attacked a gay person, as if the Christian group has never destroyed gay ppl's property, as if the Christian group has never bashed anyone else. But thats not true. The Christian group has a very long history of these things. And while I believe that these people probably arent really Christians, you can not expect someone who has always been treated like crap by people claiming to be Christians to understand the difference between a real Christian and someone who just claims to be. The problem I have with your post is you make it sound like no one has ever committed violence in the name of Christianity, when that is soooooooo far from the truth.

Of course its not. You and I know its spiritual. It reminds me of the homosexuals rioting outside Lot's house, trying to get with the 2 angels. Also reminds me of in the Bible, the demons crying out "leave us alone!". There is something very demonic about that video n their cries are from the pit of hell.

I wonder if anyone has looked this up on Snopes. It looks staged to me. There's a lot of that going around.

hate crime is a ridiculous thing. u get more time on your prison sentence if the crime was motivated by hate. so if you kill a black guy cuz u hate blacks, it is worse than if u kill a white guy cuz u hate him.

    MAKES NO SENSE!!!!

Yes, because all the gays got together and voted that some horrible gay people should attack her.

Just like all the straight people get together and vote that some horrible straight men should rape women.
