Christians, do you find yourself no longer liking music you once did?
I found this radio station http://www.wmit.org/listen/index.html and listen to it on my long commute to work and when I do stuff on the computer. Do you find it more difficult as you grow in your Christian walk to find pleasure in foolish lyrics of music today?

Shortly after I became a Christian at age 23 I threw out over $2,000 worth of CDs and DVDs. It was one of the best things I did for my spiritual growth.

Christian, Absolutely.. I have been a Christian for 16 yrs and have found that as I have grown in my faith God has little by little weened me off from things of the world. TV, Radio , etc. And if the TV and radio do go on at my house they have Christian movies or Christian radio stations playing on them. I don't have cable anymore because I find it to have far to much garbage on it. I pretty much only use my TV for playing Christian DVDs or VHS tapes now. When I first became a Christian I was still listening to secular music ( not that all of it is bad) and now all I listen to is music with a Christ centered message. So yes I know exactly what your talking about. It's amazing how the power of the holy spirit is able to sanctify us cleaning this stuff out of our lives. Some of it came as a result of God turning up the heat in my life burning off the dross.... Hope this helped...God bless you !

Yeah. I used to love KORN, Marilyn Manson, System of a Down, Rob Zombie, Slayer, and Pantera... I just can't listen to that stuff anymore. It's too hateful, and/or has too much profanity.
There's still a lot of secular music I CAN listen to, though: Nightwish, WIthin Temptation, Iced Earth, Kamelot, Leaves Eyes, Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian... so I don't mind it too much.

My favorite band was metallica. Now they are saved Christians. Worked out well.
I do notice lyrics now that I didnt notice before that are offensive to God. I also have a hard time watching certain movies. I get so convicted in my Spirit. I just have to stop.

That looks nioce, but I don't do commercials, so I listen to worship music on an iPod and on CD.
I find myself not listening to any other music lately, and I think that this is a Blessing.

Yes. I've hundreds of cd's i can't listen to any more as a result of they do nothing to lift me, and only christian lyrics speak to me now.

No, my musical tastes are much the same as they were forty years ago. If anything they are more catholic (small c) now, because I hadn't got much time for classical music as a teenager.
