What was your toughest time, when you stopped smoking?

After three weeks I gave in to temptation and lit a cigarette.

I got dizzy and it didn't taste good at all. Put it out when I was through half. Ever since, when I think about smoking, I just have to remember that awful experience to get rid of that devil called temptation.

i was lucky , i REALLY wanted to quit , and i was having surgery for my nose - BAD deviated septum , after years of real bad sinus problems. so doctor said not to smoke for 24 hours , to make sure no infection. so that made me scared to , so i think kind of helped me a little. But then the hardest one i missed was the after dinner cigarette. all others were ok...just that one.

Then the funniest thing ,2 years went by , and I did not have the slightest craving for a cigarette. UNTIL>>>>> i got pregnant. I wanted a cigarette in the WORST way. We had gone out to dinner one night , and i saw this woman smoking a cigarette (and this is terrible...), but i wanted that cigarette SO bad, i could actually imagine myself hitting her over the head with my chair, and taking her cigarette. Of course , i did not smoke, at all. But then as soon as i delivered my daughter , my craving for that cigarette , was like, instantly gone !!!

I didn't really HAVE a tough time after I watched the first Brown and Williamson tobacco trial on Court TV.

It is a lesson, that won't let you put a ciggy in your mouth again, ever.

The scientist, brought in by the Co. (believe it or not) testified of how the tobacco Co's LACE their tobacco leaves with addicting chemicals just to get people hooked for life. They knew the dangers, and that smoking causes cancer, and did it (do it) anyway!

Don't let the fat cats make you sick. A death from lung cancer, or emphysema is the ugliest death you can die.

Take care, and just say "I'll never put fire to paper again, to suck in murderous smoke into my lungs."

Stay off! You will feel so much better, fast!

You will smell pine trees in the forest, and your food will have TASTE again.

Good luck! And, good health, always! You deserve it, because you cared enough, and were SMART enough to quit!

Please look here. This case was a doozie!!!

To me from the first day to the first week were the hardest. I made up my mind to quit smoking and I finally did in December 1999. It took me the whole year to do so. I was smoking - quiting several times during that year. I do the same thing with coffee now.

Probably the three months I had before taking it up again.

In all seriousness though, it was probably being out socialising with my mates. That was tough.
