Would you bring some socks with you?
This weekend, I had some friends, a married couple, come for sunday lunch. They know that I expect visitors to my house to remove their shoes.
The lady was wearing a smart outfit with a skirt and had been wearing heels. I offered to lend her some socks, but she had brought a pair in her handbag.
Ladies, if you were going for dinner at a house with a shoes-off rule, would you bring some socks with you, rather than have just barefeet or nylons?
Nicole, I was not at all offended. I was pleased that she was thoughtful.
I am just interested as to whether other women would do that.

Actually I usually do wear socks as part of my outfit when going to a no-shoe policy household. I get really cold if I'm barefoot, even though I like how people look in bare feet. But if I were a stylish gal like your guest, I would probably bring along some socks in the handbag. Smart gal, she ;)

I wouldn't go to a house with that rule! I think it is extremely rude to ask that of people.
I understand the different reasons of why you take your shoes off at the door. but for heavens sake, be flexible.
AND the fact that you are implying that this woman was WRONG (?) for bringing her own socks... well you just have some major issues bud...
I don't even get why you are upset that she brought socks when you are going to make her take part of her outfit off.
you need some help!!!

Where do all you shoes off people come from. None of my friends are that bothered. Of course we wipe our feet or take our shoes off if the weather's grotty outside out of plain courtesy or if someone has a wooden floor and your wearing heels, but as for having a "shoes off in the house" policy.................. No, never. Guess that's what comes from living in the country - we're used to mud n stuff. So as for taking or not taking socks with us, it just doesn't apply.

Well if it was carpet I would.
It's the same way at my house, but people usually just go barefeet. I don't think it matters really.

I'd bring my slippers. I personally walk right round my house with shoes on until I can be bothered to change into slippers. But in my friends' house, who do take shoes off, I take slippers.

JoJo, My 18 twelve months old cat Samantha does the comparable ingredient in basic terms with fluffy pom pom balls made for cats. There are a pair of dozen of them around the living house, and he or she too includes them in her mouth and "talks" to them. now and back she fairly gets loud and that i determine that "infant" is quite in complication and getting a "day out". you would be surprised at the place i discover them now and back. such as you, it fairly is in simple terms the cutest ingredient. Sam by no skill grew to become a mom, and that i'm constructive she could have been an magnificent mom, so I determine that the pom poms are her toddlers. this is a cat ingredient.

Myself and Immediate family have "shoes off" rule. But I would not ask visitors to do that.

i would probably stick with barefeet. but there's nothing wrong with her bringing her own socks. are you offended or something?
